Any body else had this bad a start ??
At my old club the first was a 200yd par 3. About 20yds forward at an angle of 45° was a thick bush. I once saw a bloke in a strokeplay skewer two tee shots into the bush, ball never to be found. He just turned around and walked off the course. The clubhouse was in kinks. I have had 8's on first holes before, not the hole mentioned though, but never double figures. Scary and fair play to him for getting it back together for the next holes.

Wow! Fair play to him for carrying on. A lot of pros would have withdrawn or feigned injury after a 17.

Chap at our place was in a greenside bunker on the par 4 1st for 2. Played 14 shots in the bunker and then 3 putted..... 19 to kick off a medal
