Northern Matchplay

The 1st round of the Northern Matchplay is drawn today!!
Even though I've not got past the 1st round for 4 years I love the competition and for me signs the start of the season.

How have you lot got on in the past?? Also once the draw is made, where are you playing your 1st round this year?

I see there was still 1 or 2 spaces available this morning to even the numbers up in the draw and save a few byes.

Yeah I saw that and the draw got put back to day..... just waiting for the text coming through now.

tweet went out saying emails will be sent out "sometime" today.

Obviously not a full take up this year as if I recall correctly last years draw and deadline was moved forward as it was full.

Ive done it in the past, but if you progress well, you have to take about 3-5 days off work if you get to the finals. More of it should be on weekends.

Possibly due to the increased number of neutral venues. If you get to the final you'll have had 4 different day trips with fixed dates. Probably doesn't suit a lot of people. Also the decision to make it a CAT 1 & 2 competition last will also have reduced numbers.

Who you playing against and when? Course was looking good today, we've got a County Fixture here on 12th April.
