Can anyone recommend a place to stay (caravan park or holiday cottage) in the Snowdonia area?

(Link if you fancy it your self http://www.snowdoniagolf.co.uk/?dm_i=2GXG,4QWV,24K8DE,A355,1)

Me and the missus are planning to do the Snowdonia golf package where you can play 3 out of 5 courses in the area. We are of course looking at Nefyn and royal st David's but unsure on the 3rd but would like to stay within easy(ish) distance to them all!

Even better if any fellow forum members may even have a holiday place that they rent out?

Cheers for you time and thanks in advance for any help

matt :)

You could stay here, which isn't really cheap, but is a fantastic place to stay, in its own way. We've been twice in the last year:-

Edmund Hillary and the "chaps" stayed here whilst practicing to climb Everest.

If you send me your email address I can send you a few pages from a Stuart Maconie book that talks about it.

Matt - went there for Dazza's 40th.

We stayed in Criccieth at a top B&B which was nice, but we'd stay at Porthmadog if we went again. More things to do, plus there's a decent course there.

We played at Nefyn & RSD (I've also played Porthmadog). All really good tracks (even though going on The Point at Nefyn's a bit Mickey Mouse it is still one of those you've got to tick off, views are awesome!).

That's awesome stuff cheers for that :) will look for digs around Portmadog

I stayed in a lovely B&B that backs right onto the 2nd fairway at RSD if that is any use? Can't remember the name but I'm sure it will come up in a google search. Huge room, great breakfast and decent price.

ps.....I'd go for Porthmadog as your 3rd course

quality that's Porthmadog as course number 3 then, just need to get the digs sorted :)

There's a nice place that rents out Log Cabins in Trwasfynnd( pronounced Trouse fin ed) on the outskirts of Porthmadog that id highly recommend.

I've stayed in Cricceith aswell which was nice.

stay near RSD I recommend, probably best placed. Porthmadog is fine, front 9 is parkland though and very different to the back. Heard good things about Pwllheli so I would try that.

Or find a way to play Aberdovey.

I played Pwillheli last Easter and it was so good we went back the next day and played it again. The front nine is more parkland but it gas some terrific links holes on the back nine with fantastic sea views. The members were very friendly and I personally could not believe how ridiculously cheap it was!
