Any recommendations of where to play? Going to be there in late May. I'm trying to convince my brothers to play one of the five links courses with Royal West Norfolk being my preference but having no joy so far so trying to find some parkland/heathland alternatives.

Thanks in advance

Believe RWN to be foursomes and two balls only.

Sheringham or Hunstanton are very good, and would be my choice.

Inland, King's Lynn is a nice knock in the north norfolk area. Nothing else until Thetford in the south

Hunstanton on a Tuesday and here is why,

While predominantly a two-ball course for singles and foursomes play, four-balls may be played throughout the year on Tuesdays after 9.30am and after 2pm on Sundays in the summertime.

If you don't mind driving east then Royal Cromer is a must, on par with Hunstanton and Sheringham.

I rate Kings Lynn, and have heard good things about Swaffam which I playing in July

I've booked up a trip with some mates in about a month or so.

We're doing an evening at sheringham, a day at cromer and a round at thetford on the way home.
Think that's a pretty good set. You have to be careful with travelling any distance as the roads aren't great.

As mentioned, if you're not up for foursomes, your choice can be limited.

Swaffham is good, some very good holes - notably 2 & 17. Greens and bunkers have always been in good shape when i've played it too. Used to be a 9 hole course years ago, but much better now the new holes are bedded in.

Both me and one of my brothers have played Thetford but we'll be staying on the North coast. I've pitched the links courses but no joy so far.

Thanks Rob will have a look at Swaffham  Anyone played Barnham Broom?

A hidden gem is Mundesley , a few miles east of Cromer and down a tad, a 9 hole 18 tee course designed by Harry Vardon.

Its not long, but is inexpensive and a pretty course

Im playing Sheringham and Cromer in May, really looking forward to it

We did this trip last summer.
Hunstanton, sherringham, Cromer, RWN, and King's Lynn on way home. Wouldn't fault any of them.

3 balls can play RWN with permission from Secretary. There was a 3 ball ahead of us playing in 2s. They didn't hold us up!
Be aware of tide times when organising RWN as you can't cross the salt marsh at high tide

Chose from either Hunny, Brancaster, Cromer or Sheringham for your seaside fix (strong arm your brothers, it will be worth it) and combine with a trip to KL, Weston Park or Thetford for the inland experience and you won't go far wrong. It's all personal preference ultimately but I've played those on the list dozens of times and never had a poor experience at any of them.

There are only 3 links courses in that area, Brancaster, Hunstanton and Great Yarmouth. I would add GY to your list, it's inside the racecourse and it's very quirky but really good fun with some excellent holes. Also much cheaper than some of the others.

I'm a member at Barnham, personally I like it Valley is a decent course but the greens not as good as the Hill course.

Normally some quite good deals on offer for cheap rounds.

Personally think Swaffham and Sherringham take some beating

Glad am reading this coz son in laws dad is a member at swaffam so fancy it on our jolly to sunny hunny in May

Another nod to Sherringham , it's breathtaking in parts and very good in others. Royal Cromer is decent too but not as visually strong. Off to Barnham in the summer so am looking forward to that. Slightly off piste but it might be worth playing Royal Norwich while you can as it won't be there for much longer as is a decent parkland and not too far from the broads and the coast.

My favourites in order

Hunstanton
Brancaster
Sheringham
Cromer

You won't go wrong playing any of those four - especially Hunstanton

Huh? Yarmouth is not north Norfolk, and isn't even in the same league as Hunstanton, Sheringham, Brancaster and Cromer!!

Who said anything about putting the courses into a league? The OP just asked for suggestions where to play and I've given him an option within an hour's drive.
