N Korea Warns Of 'Merciless' Nuclear Strike..
The North Korean military says it has "ratified" a merciless attack against the United States, potentially involving a "cutting-edge" nuclear strike.

"The moment of explosion is approaching fast," the army said in a statement on state news agency KCNA.

War could break out "today or tomorrow," the statement said, quoting a spokesman for the General Staff of the Korean People's Army.

"The merciless operation of (our) revolutionary armed forces in this regard has been finally examined and ratified

for now it seems to be aimed at Guam an the american bases there , but if this kicks off the world as we know it will surely change forever ..

Thoughts ?

Personally I think it is bluster but you can never be happy about a total nutter having access to instant sunshine

"We're doomed, doomed ar tell thee..."

Bluff of a kind. I wouldn't be surprised to see a conventional war with the threat of going nuclear if too many nations step in and send troops to S. Korea. I guess S. Korea are just as terrified of friendly fire from their biggest supporter.

Also it's a young leader securing his position during tough times by sabre rattling on the world's stage. It's also easier for him to justify the meagre existence most are living if they think they are at war.

The guy is a total loony only the other week he had former NBA star Denis Rodman as his guest, think he's looking to broker a deal for aid as the country is seriously poverty stricken.

Spoke with my brother earlier as he is South Korea working and he never mentioned anything about it.

It's probably bluff but this is the problem with proliferation and smaller, unstable countries getting armed; it only takes one nutjob to get control of the red button and all those nightmare scenarios can turn to reality.

There were enough nuclear bombs dropped in WWII to suffice for the rest of history.

Earlier this week the breakfast news was doing a piece on this joint industrial complex on the border,
Saying its normal here, and this is the sort of place that would close if things got more than just bravado.

Next day it's closed, what a surprise, sometimes these events are media driven, the media are there to report events, not to influence them,

If we are not careful the media are going to create a war

Personally, I hope the yanks call his bluff.

It's no more than sabre rattling to try and emulate his daddy. I wonder if it's really him saying this or his "advisors".

He's young, and has got his finger on a huge amount of power. He's not used to having his authority questioned. Be afraid BE VERY AFRAID!:(

Surely he's better off trying to beat his old man's best ever round of golf!!

IMO they're all radio rental and it's just sabre rattling. If they do kick-off then it would be interesting to see whether the Chinese back them this time.

Whatever happens, I am more concerned about the continued cold snap affecting my golf game!

It seems to me its just dawned on the already slightly delusional Kim Jong-Un just how much power he potentially has, and hes willing to see what he can get out of it from the international community. Whether that will actually lead to a full scale war I'm not so sure, the only country that would back them are China and even they are at their wits end with them. And whilst this new leader is clearly a bit bonkers is he really stupid enough to try and wage war with the US? They reckon at best their weapons can reach Alaska and Hawaii, and not only do the Americans have the ability to knock the nukes out the sky, but they could then fairly easily go and send the whole of North Korea back to the stone ages (not that their particularly far off anyway)... it seems to me this is all a bluff and they are just trying to get the UN sanctions lifted and more economic aid... trouble is if he gets a bit hot headed and decides to press the button anyway, then who knows what could happen :o

There is almost certainly at least 2 American missile subs just sat bobbing around off the coast of Korea. If this guy really is nutty enough to press the button his country will cease to exist within about two minutes of him doing so!
