North Foreland Golf Course

Send Rick a pm, he played an open there recently

Has anyone played at North Foreland Golf Course down in Kent?

Any thoughts?

Played there on a number of occasions great track, slick old greens, good value for money and a well run club. When I played last summer a nice bit of klunge behind the bar as well.

I've played it a few times and it's a fine track and well worth a visit. It's close to the sea but not really a links course, I guess in many ways it's similar to Cooden Beach. I payed on of my first ever games on there and scored 15 points but, looking back, that wasn't too bad on a tough course for a beginner

Please post up how you get on

A course definately worth playing, usually in good condition with fast and firm greens, gentle start but gets tougher, can be weather dependant, wind sea mist etc.

Played 36 holes in a mid am there a couple of weeks ago, day after Littlestone.

It was very, very windy..........pin positions were evil, some of them bordering on not playable.
Nice course, was expecting it to be more linksy. Greens were quick.

The 10th is a short par 4 but has a really small green that's hard to hit. 11th is driveable. A very tough finishing stretch especially into wind.

I managed to win the morning nett comp so a bit biased I suppose......

I think you'll enjoy it.

Ps if you play it, can you check if anyone handed in a headcover for an Adams ProDhy hybrid 21 degree?

Heard there were a lot of complaints about the pin positions that day.

Indeed, they actually changed a couple for the PM round.
Downhill, downwind, pin only just on the front of the green. #justmissingthewindmill

Reminds me of Came Down, played in their scratch open a couple of years ago. They have 3 or 4 holes that run downhill and the greens run away from you. The flags were at the front but everyone was putting from the back of the green or chipping on because they had run through.
