In the Edinburgh area there are over 30, "Non Course Owning Golf Clubs", sometimes called "Nomadic Clubs" or "Societies".

I'm a member of one called "Blackford Golf Club", in addition to my main club membership.
Blackford is 125 years old this year and plays 4 outings per year, 4 matches against other clubs and has a knockout competition, so 8 or 10 games a year, all in the east of Scotland.

As I work in Glasgow, I'd like to join a similar club that plays in the west of Scotland but I can't find any.

Is anybody aware of such a club?

I think that there will be a lot of municipal courses with many clubs attached to them. To far from Glasgow, but Belleisle was a course I was looking at last year in Ayr. They have a lot of clubs attached.

Why would you want to limit yourself to this kind of club though?

It wouldn't be limiting. I'll still be a member of my main club - Bruntsfield in Edinburgh - and my Nomadic club, Blackford.
Clubs attached to one course (Belleisle) is not what I'm looking for.
Blackford plays it's 4 outings at 4 different nice courses, last year it was Gullane, Kilspindie, Royal Burgess and Aberdour.
I'm looking for the equivelant of that in the west of Scotland.:)

Clubs have to be attached to one [home] club for handicap purposes.
Last time I looked Belleisle had 13 affiliated clubs.

No, that's only if they want to be able to issue handicaps. my handicap is held at my main club (Bruntsfield)
SGU website lists 30 or so non-course owning clubs based around Edinburgh. My nomadic club Blackford is one of them. I can't find any such in the Glasgow area.
