So i've bought a set of Mizuno MX-200's however they only have a PW and no SW, what is the standard loft then for a wedge or is it just use what feels best...

I think Mizuno do a sand wedge for the MX200 which you have to buy seperately. I'm sure it's about 56 degrees.
If you don't want a matching one then it's up to you...Vokey, MD, Ping etc. etc.
You can basically choose what you want but as I say, the "norm" for a sand wedge is around the 55/56 degree mark.

Think 56 is the standard but I guess it depends on the type of sand in your bunkers and how deep they are. You might want to go to a 58 if they are very deep. 56 will get you out of most bunkers and you can always open it up for more loft

Oh, a veritable minefield.

As said, SW's are about 56 degrees normally. Though you may consider a gap wedge of 51 or 52 degrees.

The MD wedges are good value for money. I have the superstrong 56 degree and not had any problems with it compared to my Mizzy MPR gap wedge and lob wedge.

My advice would be:

1 Get yourself a nice Seve golf MD 58 wedge with the c grind sole and complement it with a normal 52 degree Seve MD.

2 Go to DGUK and get yourself the John letters TP forged wedge in 52,56,60 degrees.

Both wedges are great (myself really like the John letters) and are at a great price!!! (of course if money is if no concern then a vokey/ping/taylormade/cally/nike or anything else is just great)

Good luck and hope u find soe good wedges!!! :D

I have a 52-56-and 60.

Use the 56 from the sand almost all the time, except if the pin is only a few yards on and then i'll use the 60, very rare this happens however.

:)

Over the years, I've bought a few sets with no SW. I simply put any old 56 in the bag and got on with it. As lofts went down (PWs got like old 9 irons) I got into Gap Wedges. I use 3 these days, 47 (was 46 originally) 52 and 56. Works for me.

When I bought my Mizuno MX23's a few years ago they didn't come with a sand wedge either, so I bought a matching one which is 58 degree. Gets me out of the sand most times. :)

Golfmmad. :)
