Not having played much in last few years since moving + property project, been often scratching the golfing itch on here (more of a reader than poster). Can be tough at times as a lot of you seem to play more in a week than I've managed in a year!

Anyway, late last week finally took plunge and joined a local club. Was really between two and I received a 3 round voucher for one at chrimbo, but only used the final round in early June. In the end went for the other, Carswell Golf although not much between them.

Also made the call to add my two early teen boys onto the roll, with a view to giving them a push this summer and have them off the computers/game machines for a bit.

Probably short terms rounds may not come thick and fast but having that flexibility for holes here and there is the win. Did 10 after signing up - with a bonus of an eagle, birdie back to back (a first for me), plus another 10 with one of the boys.

Now to re-activate the handicap, and then who knows maybe forum meets beckon...

Ball lost in rough on first and one OB on 9th - but of course I wanted to remember the few minutes when it looked like I might be able to play this game. Par 5 on in 2, followed by a par 3 - decent putt on each. Probably never to be repeated!
