The wife just said to me that in the supermarket today none of the chocolate eggs had Easter written on them! So I Googled it and found quite a few news articles where Cadbury & Nestle have removed the wording Easter from all their chocolate eggs 😳

I'm sorry but Easter is a Christian festival and correct me if I'm wrong but we're a Christian Nation aren't we? and we have always celebrated Easter and Eggs have symbolised it.

So What the hell is going on when you can't have the word Easter on Easter Eggs any more and they have to be now known as just Chocolate Eggs 😡

There should be public outcry over this, I certainly won't be spending any of my hard earned on any of their products any more.

Hold the front page :ooo:

Where have you heard that they can't have the word Easter on them anymore?

Don't believe everything you read on Facebook

Had a quick look at Tesco's and Sainsbury's websites and they have the word Easter all over them.

We're a largely secular nation now that hangs on to a few Christian ideals rather than proper practicing Christians I think, we take part in some religious festivals for fun so I cant see any kind of outcry over this, not sure many of those hunting for then stuffing chocolate eggs in their face are thinking of the risen Christ tbh.

True Easter celebrants will be out rolling proper painted hard boiled eggs I suspect, chocolate ones are just shops trying to make money !:(

chocolate eggs all year round sounds great, Easter eggs in November doesn't sound as appealing, good marketing ploy IMO, it's even being discussed on a Golf Forum

Nothing to do with FB, I've just read news articles from the mainstream newspapers reporting on it.

They (Cadbury & Nestle) that I know of so far have definitely removed the word Easter from all their eggs, so for me they have made a decision themselves that they can't or won't use the word Easter for fear of upsetting others!

I'm sorry but what's next, Christmas!

it's in the OOB's section which is for anything non-golf!

They've definitely not removed the word Easter from their eggs.

This has got nothing to do with Eggs being banned and last years myths, this is factual with comments from both brands admitting they've removed the word Easter from all their traditional Easter product range!

Do you have a link to the articles from this year about them removing the word Easter from all their Easter range ? Every article I can see if from last year ?

Isn't it about time we had Easter on a fixed date, all this 14th day after the vernal equinox stuff is so 3rd Century

Would make like so much easier if it was a fixed date like the last weekend in March.
Given that it's a Friday to Sunday thang

Forget the online descriptions as they mean squat, show me a Cadbury egg or Easter product with the word Easter on their packaging, and I don't mean buried in the small print at the back.

The wife said it looked so obvious in Sainsbury's, Easter was blazoned on all their own branded Eggs and yet on the same displays you couldn't see the word Easter on any Cadbury product!

So have they definitely removed the word Easter from their packaging or not?

I can see two items with the word Easter on the front ?

The Easter Bonanza Box has Happy Easter on it ,the Cadbury Easter Sharing Basket had Happy Easter on it , there is the Diary Milk Happy Easter Bar , the Creme Egg and Mini Egg Easter Gift pack has Happy Easter

On the articles I have seen which are from last year people have said that it's nothing to do with anything beyond marketing and shelf life

When did they say they have removed Easter from everything ?

It's currently being discussed by the various Christian denominations. My sister is on the General Synod and I asked the same question half jokingly last time I saw her. Lots of branches of the church so it's not a quick process but it is being attempted so I'm told.

I requested early April but apparently as a non believer my views don't count 😞
