No More Coleman-Balls!

A very good BBC sport front man gone , could teach a few today a thing or two , He was on BBC and Brian Moore on ITV ......................Will always be known for Grandstand on a sat .........................................................................RIP

Another legend gone from the golden age of BBC sports commentary. :(

I remember him particularly for his football (especially FA cup finals) and Olympics commentaries.

I have fond memories of Coleman as I was growing up, the man was a legend for sure.

Will never forget the spitting image puppet of him with his finger in the ear "quite remarkable" :D

Porterfield - one nil was a classic from the 1973 cup final. I actually thought it was his journalistic way of covering the 1972 Munich Olympics that really got a young boy to understand quite simply what was going on. He had a way of making the word fit every picture perfectly

A sad loss indeed to the world of sport, especially athletics.

His commentaries on finals were almost as exciting as the race itself!

Shunned the limelight, but shone to so many.

R.I.P. David Coleman

Another boyhood icon gone

"Errrrrr remarkable".(spitting image)
And

"Oh no!!!! I've gone too soon" ( not the nine o'clock news)

Fabulous send ups of a great presenter

Unfortunately it's a sign that we too are getting older.

Caught his commentarys on the Olympics more than anything as I was an ITV (Brian Moore) Cup Final watcher.

Always seemed to be close to tears with his quivering voice at moments of high excitement. He epitomised sports commentary. A few of the modern commentators should have learnt a lot from this humble but experienced member of the BBC.

RIP
