As a man of leisure I'm fortunate to usually play in a 10 hole sweep with some seniors and business men on Tuesday & Thursday mornings, I also play in a much larger 18 hole sweep on Fridays and then my Saturdays and Sundays are either a combination of club comps or our own syndicates, not to mention various trips and meets around the country, so, I'm used to quite a bit of exercise and as I carry in the main, this has kept my weight since starting playing around 30 months ago to around 13 stone.

Just jumped on the scales and I'm a smidgen over 14 stone

So, No Golf = Weight Increase, are you suffering an increase in weight from not playing :mmm:

A stone increase  how long is it since you played?

I would expect that if golf is your only exercise and you play regularly that it would be inevitable you would put some weight on but a whole stone is a lot.

I run a couple of times a week and if I stop that I see a weight increase, it's a good reason not to stop

I'm at best lately playing once a week, but I think when I'm playing regular I'm eating and exercising in conjuction with each other and lot more healthier.

When stuck in I'm scoffing out of boredom, napping in the afternoon then sitting up late and more scoffing

Couldn't believe the scales but before Christmas I was a comfortable 13 stone!

My weight seems to stay pretty stagnant regardless.

Mine had for years, especially before I took up golf so I can only assume that my golf has kept it down but now with a slump in playing and doing nothing else, its jumped...

Nope, I've lost 12 lbs since the New Year. That's with just cutting out the crap, chocolate, biscuits, crisps etc, and trying to reduce portion sizes. Still got about a stone and a half to go, but hoping when the golf starts again more weight will come off.

You can burn a few extra calories on Sunday helping me look for my ball.

I haven't done any exercise or played golf for months and put on a fair few pounds but I started eating healthy and cut out all the crap and I e lost 16 and a half pounds in 6 weeks , its all about your eating , when I was a gym user everyone used to say that.

Last year about a fortnight before H4H, I was practicing with my driver every night at the range, 100 balls a night, so 1400 in total before the big day and during that fortnight I lost over half a stone, my diet stayed the same, just swing my driver everynight must have made the difference.

Pre xmas lots of golf 11 stone 12 lbs. Post xmas, no golf and course under water 12 stone 12 lbs, the heaviest I've ever been. Maybe I need to start a new sport and buy a canoe

Did you weigh yourself with your golf bag on?

I've cut out all forms of fizzy drinks at the moment (lager included) and am feeling a bit better for it, but can't help thinking I'm healthier in the middle of summer playing a few times a week.
