It was a foul. Outside the box with first contact but that's not Youngs fault or problem.

He has a reputation and does dive but IMO that was foul. The correct decision re red card and penalty / free kick is a different debate.

He was halfway down before any contact was made, and the refereeing is dreadful. The ref had no view, asked his linesman who told him he couldn't help him, so on that basis the ref gave the penalty. What was even worse was that the linesman was up with play and couldn't actually let him know that the pitifully slight contact there was occurred outside the box.

And another Howard Webb comedy moment in the Everton Chelsea game. how on earth did David Luiz stay on the pitch after being last man whilst wrestling Miralles to the ground?

Even though he was 60 yards from goal and had another defender level with him? Wasn't a clear goalscoring opportunity. Correct decision in my opinion.

Not sure I agree. THe other defender was miles away, and if Miralles had got past Luiz he was 1 on 1 with the keeper. Luiz wouldn't have got near him and he knew it so he brought him down. Old school 'professional foul' and should be a red in my opinion.

Not sure Ashley Young done anything wrong he got himself between the ball and defender ensuring the defender couldn't get near the ball without taking him out i would say that was being clever not cheating, there was more than enough contact to bring him down the issue for me was it was outside the box the referee looked to the linesman for help and was given none. Referee gets one look in real time and from behind where he was it probably looked like a penalty all day so he gave it. Got to say watching the game i thought it was a penalty first time round.

Outside the box, almost outside the D, and running away from the ball to block off the defender. You're right it was a red card; for Young, because that should have been his second yellow for diving.

Just what Waddle said on Radio 5.
Ref either had to send off Young or the defender and chose not to upset the Old Trafford crowd!

No idea, we had company last night so didn't see any of it live, just watched MOTD after this morning's round and I don't think it was on there, I'm certainly not trawling through the full 90 minutes to check it now.

Ashley Young is a repeat offender when it comes to diving, even his own manager as said it has to stop. I hope he gets a legit penalty turned down in a big game due to his reputation.

Big heated debate about it on 606 tonight. General consensus seemed to be retrospective red cards, and the 3 game ban that goes with it, would sort the problem pretty much overnight. Have the FA got the balls to do it? Ha ha ha:rolleyes:

Waddle??? Like he's got any creditability on the subject. He wasnt much use taking a penalty either! Fat knacker...

I love the fact that everyone wants to make it "old Trafford" as this big horrible place where Refs buckle under pressure to the crowd!! Im sure refs never get intimidated when they ref at other big clubs like Anfield, Stamford Bridge etc etc!! But it makes me laugh when they winge on about feeling so hard done by!! I get everyone wants to hate Utd..... thats fine supporters dont actually give a monkeys and positivity encourage it.... and for the record Young is a complete t***t but please keep making a big issue about it and they will retain the reputation and of course then the refs will keep giving us penalties because they are oh so scared of the crowd!
