I have to say that I don't particularly welcome this type of post either.
In my job, I train people to national/international standards and of all the world renowned practitioners in my field, none of them enter the realms of NLP or any other techniques. I know that many of these things are both valid and scientific but all I have ever seen in succesful people is a) hard study, b) lots of practical work (practice, in golf terms) c) good tuition and d) positive mental attitude.

Sorry....but I think you may have found the wrong audience.

give the guy a break fellas.
past few days this forum is peeing me off big time.

just remember the only thing any of us own here is the computer your fingers push.none of us OWN this site so take a break and chill.

when i started playing golf a few months ago i struggled with the ignorant mentality that i see on the course with players.
i was warned by my range pro before i ventured on a course that every member beleives he owns the course and behaves like so.looks like its here too!
what is it all about guys this is an open golf forum dont behave like its your own.
i really dont intend making enimies on here because i value your opinions when i need help but im so confused about certain ideas of people.

You're right and wrong, cosworth.

Yes, we should give the guy a break by not being rude to him. Unfortunatley he has just suffered a backlash from too many unsolicited plugs lately and it has obviously irked some of the longer-standing posters. In the past we just ignored these posts. However, the point is well made that if he wants some advertising then there's a perfectly good magazine I can suggest he spend his advertising budget on which has a higher readership than here.

And of course it's not our forum but your Pro is probably right. We do all kind of treat it as our online club and hope that certain standards are maintained. You can understand why we all get like that when you find a club you like and it's infiltrated by some who have an agenda. You'll be able to judge the good guys and the bad guys yourself very quickly. Bear with us and hopefully no offence taken.

I think there must have been a full moon or something lately.

Aaaah, j_f, surely you are the Kofi Annan of this forum, smoothing over the cobbles of the rocky path that we tread!

Your point is valid, NLPGolf is getting the backlash from other (worse) recent posters like the guy that said "you come to our new course! it fab! Only 5 mile Hanoi. Girls sexi but cheep"

I liked the "intrinsic greatness" guy, quite happy to waive the GM marketing/advertising fee for someone who can use that as a slogan without laughing.

Onwards and upwards and, even if the legendary birdieman is on a month's sabbatical, we can survive!

hi john.
the main thing for me is that i personally dont want enemies and hope im not making any.
as regards the full moon i think your right.but if you take a close look at the sparks flying around its clear that some of the longer standing members are kicking things off by making statements that are meant to put them on a higher pedestal far above others.
anyways im gona chill myself now so thanks for chat.

Agreed, cosworth. No excuse for it.

Me too. I've been shouting at the lady golfers on the telly all day so I'll have used up my expletive quota for the month.

I think you'll find the forum a good laugh most of the time.

Cossie,

There are no pedestals and if GM brought them in as prizes I for one would say "take your pedestals away (and bring us decent golf-related prizes)".

No enemies here, just having a laugh.

Thanks for the kind words guys. I really didnt mean to upset anyone. I thought that i was offering a free service to those who are stuggling on the links. I now know i should not use these boards for advertising.
take care, and play with passion.

Now I feel like a total 5h1te.
I know I am opinionated but hopefully this is not perceived as bullying, arrogance or nastiness. When I read a first post from a 'newbie' I think 'another sucker like me who can't get enough of this game' NOT 'oh bugger another imposter trying to steal ma pals'.

We all know whats right and wrong on the course and probably to a fault I am using the same principal on the forum.

Play the POST as it lies
Play the FORUM as you find it
If you can't do either, do whats FAIR
But to do whats FAIR, you need to
know the rules of GOLF ... FORA

If I have pi55ed off or insulted GENUINE members new or old then I offer an unequivocal appology.
