I'm in the process of having my i20's re-shafted from standard cfs stiff to nippon ns prototype e11 x stiff. Its just that they dont seem to be a popular shaft. Anyone using these shafts got any feedback?

135gms is a very heavy shaft!

Tour 120s are quite a popular shaft on Tour apparently.

Nippon are normally known for their lightweight shafts - which I don't get on with!

I've used 1150GH Tour, stiff. Great shaft, got DG lite weight now but not as good as Nippon.

Most of the Nippon shafts seen in the UK come from the part of their range which specialises in smooth, slightly lighter shafts which give good launch for average players.

But they also do some shafts for Tour players. Stenson uses the Modus 3 shaft. That is a rather different beast from the 950 or 1050GH and needs a strong hitting swing to get the best out of them.

I hear from a guy in the business that they are also considered some of the best made shafts in the business.

I absolutely love Nippon shafts. Had 105T's in Titliest AP1 710,s which took me from 11 to 7. I now have 825 Pro's with 1150 GH's in them, once again I find these superb but I do have a moderate swing speed which Nippon seem to gear a lot of their shafts towards as they are a lightweight shaft. The shaft you mention would be geared more towards high SS I guess so any comparison would be difficult. There is very little info characteristics wise on line for the shaft you mention and seemingly they are a US product. Have you considered the Modus 3 range?........http://nipponshaft.com/?page_id=25...... Whatever you go for if it were me I would like to try them against my own on a launch monitor if that were possible before making a decision. Anyway good luck with it.

Have nippons in my AP1's they're quite nice, don't really have any other frame of reference though as they're the only clubs I've used so far

When I've been playing a year or 2 more I may treat myself to a proper fitting session for new irons but for now I'm very happy with what I have

I get a high flight from my clubs, but then I've never struggled with getting the ball up in the air
