I think its a mistake for Day to wear Nike with their current trend of clothing

Watched him in the 1st round this morning and he's gone from being one of the smartest/sharpest dressed players on tour in his Adidas kit into something the Nike YTS team have had a go at designing

I ask you, a buttoned up grandad shirt!

He is probably being paid an absolute mint to wear the gear so he probably doesn't give it a second though as to what he looks like.

I quite like the Nike gear, always have done. They like to push the boundaries a little bit with some different styles of apparel but still produce the more normal gear for amatures and the pro's to wear!

I quite like Nike as a brand too (picked up a nice plain black polo in the pro-shop last weekend in fact)

But if this is the stuff Jason gonna be forced to wear (& Rory with last seasons 'speckled grey pec display' top) maybe I've reached that age to grow out of Nike as a brand

Agree with you Slab, but you can't blame him for taking the Nike $$$

It looks a bit stage seeming him in the nike gear but I am sure that will pass.

I do like when people put the extra bit of thought into the title of a thread. Don't think it hasn't gone unnoticed. Its the little things that brighten the place up. Well done

If the Nike gear goes the same way as the clubs etc. They will be pulling out of golf altogether in a year. I have some Nike gear which is of good quality ( man city changed the badge and it was cheap) but some of the golf gear on there site looks like it was designed by Picasso.

I have a feeling - or maybe just a hunch that Nikes target golfers are the more younger generation hence introducing different styles etc

And I'm sure that both Rory and Jason aren't actually "forced" to wear a particular top - they will be able to choose from the whole range and pick what they want to wear

Yup I guess I'd play golf dressed like a loaf of bread if I got that kind of dough (at least I'd have an excuse for all the slices... and hitting it off the heel :D)

I hope you didn't think my post was suggesting they were beaten or poked with pointy sticks to wear the gear, because let me assure you I have no evidence to support that Rory's face is that way due to his clothing sponsorship commitments

Rest easy, there are different degrees of 'forced'

The Nike v Adidas "style" argument has been going on for 40 years in playgrounds around the world .... It's a no brainer for me , Nike will always win but each to their own.

Golfers will wear whatever you give them if there is a pay cheque involved, some notable execeptions allowed. Rory didn't wear a cap at all during the Ryder Cup but is never seen without one for the rest of the year. I didn't like Tiger's t-shirt look, the latest grandad shirts are the same.

Some players can get away with these or other bolder looks, Rory, Rickie etc but I'm with the OP, Jason isn't one of them.

Some people really showing their age in here

Nike and Day are a great fit.

What I will say though is the white/orange combo he wore for Day 1 wasn't particularly my taste. A bit too 'Rickie' for me.

Naturally there will be those that like the dawn of this new Day, I'm just in the 'No camp'

For those that haven't seen it
