I was having a browse around the usual golf sites this evening looking to replace a lost pitching wedge and I noticed that snainton has the Nike vr pro combos for £299. Now, I think they are some of the most beautiful looking clubs ever and I was tempted to buy them a few years ago but couldn't justify the price but for £299...can I really say no?

Any first hand opinions from those who have owned / own them? Most reviews seem to say they aren't as difficult to hit as you'd think and have a superb feel. I am sorely tempted as I feel I have outgrown my di7s.

I've just had a set bought me for XMAS for the same price. The CB model is also split cavity all the way to PW so no blades which makes them even more forgiving. I've also been hitting a demo 6 iron for the past 2 weeks and I love them.

Go for it

They are up there with mp-54 and mp-59s in terms of quality and looks in my eyes yet are half the price. I may have to head down to AG and test them out for forgiveness and feel. I feel slightly guilty that I'm only even contemplating buying them because of a lost pitching wedge.

My mate had a set until yesterday he bought a new set of 712 ap2 played today with him an he was hitting the ap2s a club further they feel softer aswel his words not mine go try the ap2s aswel

AP2's have stronger lofts so that would explain the distance increase.
