From the TV clip I just saw of Rory on the putting green, looks like Nike have gone down the Rickie elasticated tracky bottom type trousers. Suppose it was inevitable. Unfortunately Rory looks like a clown with his plates of meat.

What would your club say if you turned up to play looking like rory?

I'm all for golf keeping up with the times and have myself even warmed tonthe casual shoes, but high tops and elasticated bottoms on the trousers? Its gym wear.

I don't know any 13/14/15 year olds that have a burning desire to wear them sort of trousers, let alone on the golf course so it makes me wonder just who they are trying to sell these things to.

Also a quick browse of golfsmith in the US doesn't show them stocking either Puma or Nike versions

Hold on, Nike have just released some 'Air Max 95' golf shoes. These 'Air Max 95' trainers were big when I was a teen in the early 00's... Didn't think I'd ever be wearing them on a golf course! :whoo:

They look horrendous, but thanks for the Sawgrass heads up

Seeing as I cannot think of anything positive to say about how he looks I will not comment on how nerdy he looks in them.

Absolutely nothing. It's golf attire.

Not true. Just because Nike and puma call it so, doesn't make it golf wear.

My place will ban it, for sure.

Surely if it is deemed golf wear by the manufacturer, who are the club to say it isn't?!

Must admit, whoever sold those to the Nike upper echelons, then convinced Rory to wear them, yet hasn't got fired...... just.... how? How have you not been fired?

No its not. High tops are basketball shoes.

The kids may aswell turn up in their astro turf trainers cause thats what rickie is wearing amd what rory usually wears.

But leather brogues are sports attire? Surely the only purpose of the "Golf Shoe" is to offer less damage to the greens, while allowing you to play in something stable with decent grip.

since when have the manufacturers been the high authority on what is and isnt golf wear, if a members clubs want to ban them they will (as a lot did when tiger wore collarless shirts for eg)
