Nike Match Play

Got my 1st handicap this week (17), now looking forward to playing in competitions.

I've also entered the Nike Match Play, anyone on here entered it before and what's it like?

I have played before and played against a couple of decent guys.

its reasonably well organised although there have been stories of the odd bandit or 2 about. good luck.

I have played in it many times ( when it was Wilson/Telegraph/Volvo etc), It's well run and generally decent people play in it.

played in it when it was the Volvo. Only problem was the shared green fee as some clubs don't offer courtesy of the course for this. one guy moaned about having to play £5 ( we split the sign on) to play me at Nairn (visitor Green fee £110) Though when we arranged he was over the moon to be playing the tie there.

Personally hope just to get a few away ties and play some different courses with different people and have little to no expectations of going far in the competition. Was fortunate enough to draw Woburn away in the 2nd round last year Most courses still get courtesy, a few require you to split a guests greenfee

played in it for 3 years- never had courtesy once from any club even my own.

Arranging games can be tiresome with the 4BBB and last year we drew against two moaning idiots. we bent over backwards when they changed the times, dates and even the venue....TWICE!

I have played in it the last 2 years and have entered it again this year, always had courtesy both home (for my opponent and away (for me).

Got to the final match of our group the first year, the only thing I am not keen on is the winners o each little group (of upto 16 players) then goes through to a qualifying round for the finals. I would rather have match play all the way through.

Played in it a few years with Hawkeye. I think we once got to the heady heights of round three but normally got a good stuffing in the first or second round and rarely got an away draw. Got Ads749r as my wing man this year so we'll see how that goes. We gelled well in the winter knockout so hoping for good things
