Hi All

I've never really been properly fitted and have decided to treat myself to a proper high tech custom fit at a manufacturers facility.

I liked the look of the new Titleist irons that have just been released so contacted Kings Acre to get an appointment at the national centre but bizarrely they only do Monday - Friday appointments. My current work situation means I can't go through monday - friday and I have a fair journey to get there so really needed a weekend appointment.

Callaway in St Andrews is far away, the Taylor Made lab at turnberry has closed so I mailed the Nike Performance Lab at Archerfield - they have been really responsive, weekend appointments, very helpful mails etc.

I've never had any nike clubs in my bag at all so I just wondered if anyone could give some feedback on them? And if you've been to the Archerfield facility then even better.

thanks all

Not been fitted at Archerfield, but I was fitted for all of mine at Direct Golf over the years I have built them up. Love Nike's design ethos and the aesthetics used and the irons/fairway wood I bought gave me my best numbers. The putter, hybrid and drive have followed consequently!

I feel you would get a better fitting service at the manufacturers facility than anywhere else. I would also say that Archerfield is certainly not going to have a poor facility.

I would however advise trying out a number of different manufacturers before committing to any of them. Go to a range, try the clubs you like and try several others. Then go to the manufacturer that you have narrowed it down to. I would rather be fitted at a store that has all the manufacturer options than go to a manufacturer and get a really good fitting for clubs that I don't get on with. Narrow down the field and then go so you get the best of both worlds.

I am eying up my 3rd set of Nike irons and I'm on my 4th Nike driver ( I have only been fitted for my present driver)
Getting fitted for a Nike putter soon
Love the aesthetics of the clubs and the performance has been great throughout the models I've had.
Although I'm a big nike fan, I would advise trying a range of manufacturers and find one that suits you...then get fitted.
As for Archerfield, it's a great facility.

I'd also recommend them, bought the mmprotos last year and after a little do I use them/sell them debate I am glad they are in my bag. Had mizuno pro 2's prior to these and the nikes feel just as good and look great. They are worth every penny.

Can't comment on archerfield and the fitting service, but I'd enquire about prices, I know when I ordered an engage wedge there weren't too many choices of "free" shafts, most had upcharges. Something to bare in mind when buying a set of irons, that'll soon add up!

How'd you get your mitts on the mm protos? Thought they were a very limited US only release?

LOVE my Nike Covert 2.0's, and loved the feel of the Vapor Pro driver when I tried that out. Would love to go down to go down to Archerfield!

*clears throat*

When I was fitted for my Vapour Speed driver, for free, courtesy of Golf Monthly, I certainly had my eyes opened.

The fitting centre is, without question, one of the most impressive facilities of its kind that I've visited. Having a warm up with the Vapour irons certainly impressed me with their feel.

Then there was the trackman fitting with Ally for my driver, which was a terrific experience.

All in all, I was a lucky boy.

When it comes time to replace my JPX800 irons, I'll certainly consider the Nike range and a fitting at Archerfield.

Great club sandwich in the bar too

some of the best looking clubs on the market and the irons always feel lovely.

Vapor Pro driver is a lovely shape. I see that its mainly the older generation who see Nike as a loud brash company that are useless and gimmicky. In my opinion that is a huge misconception. The vast majority of the clubs are very traditional looking and dont feature all the nonsense in certain clubs like taylormade do. Nor do they release clubs every other month so you do not feel as if you are getting value for money.

you wont be disappointed.

I agree that if you are in the market for a proper C/F fit it would be wise to try as many makes and models as you can whether that's initially at a golf store, range or a club. Nothing wrong with Nike but I think there others out there I'd rather use

They released 10 sets in Europe about 2 weeks before Xmas. I have set number 5.

Sat on the Nike website for half an hour refreshing until they finally went in the basket.

Been using Nike Pro Combo irons in the last 2 variations and wouldn't want to use anything else. Got fitted at American Golf for the latest (few years ago) but would definitely go to a real fitting venue next time.

Nicely done!
I wasn't aware of the Europe release of the mm protos. Managed to get a method 006 when they came out.
If you ever decide to sell them I'd be interested!

Ho ho ho - you Ho!

Love the dedication!

You'd have loved the old BombSquadGolf!

Re Nike clubs...As good as any of the 'dedicated to golf' brands. Have to agree about the Combos being top notch. Not personally keen on their putters (aesthetics not performance), but same goes for TM ones too.
