Since I got my new job I've been on a gear blitz, doing what I always wanted to do - putting together my dream bag of equipment. When I like golf clubs I stick with them so this last month of mega spending is an investment for the future (tut tut tut - like the Mrs is going to be reading this...I need to relax)

So lately I've bought a Nike bag, Nike Sumo 9.5 pear shaped driver, Sumo 15 deg 3 Wood, a Sumo hybrid and finally a set of Nike blades to replace my clapped out Ben Hogans.

Lately though when I've been reading reviews and researching I've read about the Nike blades being 2 or 3 degrees more lofted per club than rival brands - anyone got the inside scoop on this? Any fellow Nike obsessives care to share from experience?

MORE LOFT? Now there's a plan. If so, I applaud them for bucking the trend. It's about time we all got a grip on this loft fraud......I'm getting my old gap wedge (52*) re-gripped today because there is nothing in my new set that goes under 120 yards.....silly sods.....

I know my Vega's are 2deg more lofted that my mates Mizuno MP32's.

My PW is still 50 tho.

Can I be honest………..does it really matter as long as you feel happy with them and you know the distance for each club.

I agree....though I have to say that de-lofting the short irons eventually leaves a wicked gap....which means buying more specialist wedges and unhittable 3 irons which means buying more rescues....how's that for a conspiracy theory. :D

Wish Wilson had done that with my Di7 irons, instead of lying about the added distance due to technology etc!

Not sure why they would do that as the vibe is all about distance. Would have thought they would have made them stronger. Have you tried looking on the Nike website to see if they give the loft specs

Haha a little bit but I've wanted a set of Nike blades since Duval won The Open at Lytham with the prototypes. The colour scheme of the new Nike stuff really appeals....and it just looks cool...thats my main thought hahah!

Ping are buggers for doing this! I had a mate off similar handicap (3) who was a good club1/2 longer than me with his irons but about the same with woods.

We both went to get ourselves fitted and it turned out the the Ping's were 2 clubs stronger in the lofts!
