Nice Wee Dram

I may have contributed a fair sum towards that. One snifter of Jura left... not bad, it lasted two weeks.

5 billion quid of value!!!! I mean I like a nice single malt as much as the next man but really?

It's huge in America and Asia, even Heathrow airport you can see the tourists in the world of whiskey shop! I would say that 80% of Scottish whiskey leaves GB.

You miss my point I take it. Whiskey is not Scottish

No......trying to explain that India imports a lot of whiskey [Irish and USA] as well as whisky [Scottish/Scotch].
BTW Whyte & Mackay are owned by an Indian company.

France are the biggest importers [sic] of whisky.

comma amiss meethinks:lol:

Well India sells more Johnnie Walker Black Label every year than what is produced in Scotland. This is thanks to bootleg stuff. If you want anything done by the Govt, you gift the officer a black label and presto your file reaches the top of the pile in no time. You can get a fair few quids for recycling the bottle. The money goes up, if also have the packaging to go with it...

I have heard about Amrut, but never tasted it yet. It also makes some really horrible paint thinners that are bottled as Whiskey like 'Officers Choice' which is really horrible. My college days in India is littered with piss poor local wiskey, so i used to local rum called 'Old Monk'. it is an acquired taste, but heavenly. The Indian armed forces drink it, and therefore sells in millions..

BTW, what is the best place to buy some good dram... my 18 & 12 yr Glenfiddich is running low and not had a Jura in a while.. so looking for deals out there..
