over the last few weeks have been getting a bit nervous as all of a sudden the mrs has been showing an interest in how my golfs going, found out why this morning and am gobsmacked, going scotland in august hopefully am already playing the old course , but the mrs has informed me she has booked me a round on another course, wasn,t expecting too much as her knowledge of golf courses in the scotland area is, shall we say limited :D in her words " ive booked you on somewhere called kingsbarns,is it any good" yeah it,s not bad was my reply, im like a little kid, cant wait :D anybody played it and what did you think, pictures ive seen it looks stunning

Played it and its a fantastic course, the best i have played. You will really enjoy it.

Its not just the course that is good everything is top class, facilities, clubhouse, staff. Superb.

What defines a great course for me is when you reflect back, what can you remember about it. I can still replay some of the holes in my head 2years later  thats the mark of something special.

We played the par3 15th of the back tees, awesome hole.

Ooohhh just thinking about it makes me want to go back.

not sure yet mate, i rang kingbarns today and explained about the old course and we wont know what day we are playing it until they day before, the wifes booked me on for the friday but if thats the day we play the old course, they might be able to move it to the saturday, will just turn up and see what happens, either way playing 2 great courses, looking forward to it, thanks for reminding me about the first tee nerves, a shot of the local stuff before should help :D

Luvvly jubbly. What a great woman. Hope you have a great time and the weather is kind. Nothing worse than paying for a trip somewhere special and having to schlep in the wind and rain all the way round

I'm not jealous, I'm not jealous - I don't know how many times I'll have to repeat it before I convince myself. :)

Enjoy the Kingdom of Fife mate what an experience you'll have playing those two courses.

thanks malc, bit different to playing purley :D sorry cant make saturday will have to arrange a game in the next few weeks if you want, ive knocked the range on the head so could do with some course time :D

You do know its gonna come back to haunt you ....dont you ?
2mths later in the summer......and in she walks........'Oh honey.....Ive seen this lovely ring/necklace/watch in the jewellers in town......its sooooooo ice........" etc etc.

Beware the over generous woman.

Nice surprise mate!

I played last month with work and had a fantastic day. Great course, quality range, welcoming clubhouse and well stocked pro shop. Clearly it's not a cheap day out but it will be memorable. The 3rd, 15th and 18th were stand out holes for me, but the rest were not too far behind.

Here's a few pics to whet your appetite!
