Cheers guys. Glad you liked my efforts. Couple of ideas floating around but the creative juices not flowing at the moment. Think it has something to do with the depressed state of my game so another article may be some time away.

Glad you enjoyed it and thanks for the kind words

Good read Homer. Reminded me of my start and early years in golf. Although my dad is still alive we have not played together for over 20 years as he suffered severe back problems and gave the game up.
Very thaught provoking and almost brought a tear to my eye.
Keep the memories alive and never forget!

Just wanted to add my thoughts on this subject, and congratulate Homer on a really touching and as said before thought provoking article.

As a young un I can remember my father disappearing off at weekends to play golf, he was really very good, at one point I belive he played off 1 or 2.

I think I was about 9 or 10 when he vainly tried to tempt me into golf, but, and this is something I have always regretted, I just didn't take to it at the time.

Although we play together now, and unsurprisingly it has I feel brought us closer together, I rue the missed opportunity of the past 25-30 yrs or so, especially knowing how much he loves the game.

With life being as busy as it is, and my parents living 100 miles or so away, we don't play as much as we should.

Coincidently we are at my parents next weekend, and we shall definitely be taking an early morning tee off which I shall very much enjoy.

NICE ONE HOMER...... A REALLY GOOD READ!!!
