The Chiefs this year are the golf equivalent of a player who gets up and down from everywhere. Bunkers, rough, you name it, they save it. The most unconvincing 11-1 team ever. I just don't know what to make of their chances in the playoffs if they struggle to beat a Raider team that has no real talent, a dead man walking in Antonio Pierce and nothing to play for. Please more of the same in 10 days time when they come to Tampa.

Watched Norte Dame v USC whilst waiting for the plane looked a very good game with two nigh on identical interceptions from Notre Dame returned for TDs.

College football this weekend was marred by all the post-game fights over teams "planting their flag" on the opposition logo. Michigan v Ohio State, Florida v Florida State. Pathetic all round.

As for the NFL, I have no clue how the lowly (ie crap) Bucs beat the even more lowly (ie even more crap) Panthers. The soundtrack to this game was Roger Daltrey singing "Giving it all away". We go ahead by four, flubb the kickoff to give them the ball at the 40 and Bryce Young drives them 60 yards to go up by three with 30 seconds left. We somehow move it downfield in 30 seconds to kick the tying fieldgoal. In overtime, the Panthers are in the fieldgoal range when Chubba "Old Mother" Hubbard fumbles. We then get a 50-yard run down to the goal-line and kick the winning fieldgoal. Atlanta screws up at home to the Chargers and now the Bucs and Falcons are both 6-6. I'll take it of course but just wow.

For Miami it's not so much cold weather, it's just good teams. The good teams on the schedule happen to be cold weather teams and the games are mostly on the road. It's the usual story of getting dominated on both LOS, OL committing numerous penalties as they are so outmatched, falling behind early due to the defense not being able to stop anyone and our coach then going all Madden to try and get points back that lead to more offensive penalties.

I think Miami might have set a new record for missed tackles in a game last night as I read they had 20 missed tackles. That will surely put to bed the claim by Deshon Elliot (safety last year for Miami) that the Dolphins are soft.

You should look at how many points Miami gives up on the road, it's hilariously bad. Going into every road game against a decent team knowing you need to score 30 to have a chance puts a bit of pressure on you.
Disappointingly, even current players were calling us out as being soft. However, not the best look when the player calling us out got trucked more than once by Josh Jacobs.
We need some a**e kickers in the team really - the shopping list for the offseason is at least one really good, powerful guard, a physical nose tackle & a thumper at MLB. Starts in the trenches

Jameis Winston having a typical Jameis game on Monday night. His first and last passes as a Buc were pick sixes. Only fitting he would throw two of them on national TV (and it would have been a third at the end if the guy had run faster down the field).

Denver continue to work towards a winning season for the first time since 2016 and maybe the play offs since 2015

Nix continues to put himself into the mix for the Offensive Rookie of the Year

Sutton looking looking back to his form before his ACL

And Bonitto - 11 sacks , not seen that sort of record for Denver since Millar

See that Al Shaair has been given 3 games for his hit on Lawrence. I thought it was a great hit. Lawrence went down really late and Al Shaair only took 1 step after the slide started (with a little shimmy). Happy that he got smashed. Don’t want the concussion for sure!

Protection of the QB is way over the top. Really bugs me. If a QB leaves the pocket they should be treated exactly the same as any other player. They’re mollycoddled

Big debate about this right now in the NFL circles - Shaair is a total thug and is being punished as much for this as previous indiscretions. On that play, Lawrence went down late and there was no way the defender could avoid such contact. One of the other issues is when a QB goes to the sideline and fakes going out of bounds. The defenders shy away from contact in case of a late hit.

This will come up at the Owners meeting in February when rule changes are discussed. It is a combination of coaches and GMs that go through all the potential changes. For now, nothing will change except the NFL talking heads will go both ways over it but something will be done in the off-season.

Seen some footage of his previous “misdeeds” and they amount to 2 slightly late hits on the sideline. Nothing there for me.

Linebackers need to be dangerous lads who live on the edge of the rules for me. Should be making the big hits

Thought it was intentional even if Lawrence did slide late. Just look at how low Shaair was, he was at ankle height when he hit him, so he knew the QB was sliding and still hit him. The forearm smash kinda sealed the deal for me. Reminded me of the hit Kiko Alonso put on Flacco a few years ago. Even as a Dolphins fan I hated to see that.

Something does have to be done about QB's who run though. I'm sick of watching Josh Allen pretend to slide then try and truck a LB, I'm amazed someone hasn't laid him out. Same with Mahomes and his twinkle toes down the sideline for an extra 20 yards as no one can hit him because if you try to he steps out and then shouts for a flag.

Agree, it was the forearm lead that was the intentional bit - at least the Kiko hit was with the shoulder I think (but looked bad in slow mo, although everything looks bad in slow mo).
What the NFL should be doing is if the QB fakes a slide and then doesn't go down, he should get a flag for unsportsmanlike conduct - agree that both Allen & Mahomes need to get smashed at least once, as it might make them think twice (although I do have an irrational hatred for Mahomes, which might be part of that - he is now the new Brady for how much whining that he does). Allen I hate because he turns into Monster Allen against the Fins

Good discussion on this on PFT Live today about the rationale and clarity (or lack of it) in the 3 game suspension.
Chris Simms is becoming an excellent analyst. I was there the day in 2006 when he nearly died on the field and lost his spleen in surgery that night. He was never the same player again. Shame as he was becoming a really good young QB for the Bucs. He's also a really decent person off the field too. I caught part of that discussion last night - good points on both sides.

Another pet hatred from the NFL this season (agree about Mahones being a serious whiner). Every receiver looking for a pass interference flag when they don't make a catch. Exhibit No.1 your honour is the Bucs' Mike Evans.

Talking of receivers, Dionte Johnson has shown why two teams have gotten rid of him for nothing after his latest stunt in Baltimore's last game. Refusing to go and play. He has worn out his welcome in the NFL now.
