Been told today by my friend who's a member that "the grove " are hosting next years event. Anyone heard anything about this?

Been one of the places rumoured to be hosting it

Sunningdale was another

I guess money rather than quality of course is going to be the most important factor as to where its hosted then, so many better options imho

The Director of golf at the belfry said they were giving the opportunity to express their interest but didn't have the 750,000 they wanted

This was a passing comment so not sure what he ment

Make the tee times 6mins, cram some more 4 balls on there and you'd soon have the £750k :D

Isn't Westwood hosting it next year? I imagine Close House would be favourite if so....

Would they not absolutely rip Sunningdale apart given its length?

I didn't rip it apart so I doubt the pros would

Seriously though, the New (or even a composite course) would stand up pretty well given that it has recently hosted international Open qualifying.

Well the 750000 figure is wrong

Around 150000 fee to host

I'd love to see them put it on a non-open rota links, or a classic heathland.

Well they managed to rip Woburn apart and think the easier the better for them ?

I dont see why people hate seeing pro's shoot low numbers, nothing more exciting for me than seeing a birdie fest!

For me the coverage gets a bit boring watching putts from 2 foot

I think a good mix is needed

Long but with dangers at driving distances , a drivable par 4 in there , a mix of short and long par 3's , par 5's that can be reached but with a little risk and greens that are receptive but not like dartboards

They may need to host it a little earlier in the year to avoid that!
