McGinley and Lawrie should be longer odds than that. Can't see past DC, really, but I'm not sure he'll be a great captain.

Hope I'm wrong.

Politically it might seem unfair going for another Irish captain with so many continental players potentially in the team.
I'd love to see Jiminez have a crack at it

D Clark hasn't a hope.

He's been sticking his own name in everywhere he can to get the place.
A lot of people don t like that sort of self promotion.

Jimmynez would be a shoe in but there is a language issue.
His spoken English isn't that good and it might, just might make the difference.
Apart from the language thing I think he would be great.
Jimmynez is my fav.

Bjorn might be a wee bit too fiery for the post. He might mellow for the next one but I
think his chances are slim. He's very much still an active player and
doesn't miss many tournaments. Cant see him ready to give up 18 month
of golf to cap the team. He knows he will get a chance in the coming
years.

Padrig just doesn't seem cap material. I'm probably wrong and I hope I am.

As an outsider I would stick a fiver on José María Olazábal.

It seems to be the most clear cut decision with a bit, don't think Clarke has any real challanger. For some reason I've never liked him too much, not sure why

Would like to see Darren get the nod however I not overly bothered and certainly wont be betting on it!

What about Monty, will he be sniffing about again like he did before Paul McGinley was picked?

Bjorn has publicly stated he wants to continue to focus on paying and Jiminez has stated he would have to give up the last few years he has left at the top to take it in 2016.

I think Jiminez is nailed on for 2018 in france personally. I dont see anyone other than DC getting it this time around.

As amusing as it would be to see Jimenez as captain i dont think it'd be that good an appointment! Darren Clarke appears the stand out choice. But it needs someone who will think clearly in the cauldron of a Ryder Cup in the US.
