Hey All

New to the forum and relatively new to the game so just thought I'd introduce myself and give you a bit of background. I've been playing golf for a few years now but never on a regular basis and I've never been a member at a club. Decided to take the plunge and joined Burstwick golf club after they ran a 3 month trial membership over the summer. Got my first ever handicap a couple of weeks ago and to my surprise it was 16, think that's a bit low for my current skill level but I'm sure it will sort itself out over time. I'm planning on taking some lessons over the summer to sort out my slice off the tee and pull straight left with my irons. Anyway that's enough of the introductions and hopefully I'll be able to add something to the discussions on here.

Thanks for the welcome. Went for a round this afternoon and managed to find my putting touch that has been missing for the last few months. Did the back 9 in a gross 2 over par for a total of gross 11 over par which reminded me why I love this game!

Gross 2 over. Pretty nifty shooting and you won't be 16 for long unless you plan to change your name to Pedro and becoem a bandito. Welcome along anyway. Get stuck in you're amongst friends (no really) here

Thanks. To be fair the back 9 at my club is much easier than the front 9 and it was just a practice round on my own so no pressure and could really take my time with putts etc. Having never played in a 4 ball before I think I've felt rushed recently and maybe tried too hard if that makes sense. As unlikely as it probably sounds I actually have no real interest in winning competitions as such but just trying to become good at golf.
