Hi all new to forum and golf! I did play when I was alot younger but only now and then !
I have been having some lessons and splashed out on some new Callaways. Getting a bit bored of the range now and looking forward to getting out on the course.

Just thought I would say HI ! :)

Hi!!!!

welcome to here - and most of all, welcome to golf!

let me guess, used to play a lot of football, but gave up due to injury and needed a sport to keep you going?

Welcome to the forum.
So, have you got a handicap yet, what clubs do you use, whats your best score do you have a chipper or any rescue clubs and finally, do you wear shorts in the summer?
We're a nosey bunch here :)

I think you need to work on a few fundamentals in your backswing :D

Hi Yogi, a big hello from the Kingdom of Fife, and a wee tip, dont buy smiffy's Escort :D

To try and answer some question-

My current clubs are some really old Dunlops but i am waiting for my shiny new Callaway Diablo Edge irons, Driver is a Callaway Warbird, My putter is like something off the crazy golf (need a new one).open to suggestions

I dont have a handicap yet, suppose i need to play a bit first.

And I do wear shorts in the summer ! LOL

Does anyone have any thoughts on joining a golf club. I have been look at the new Northwest National in Rainford. But there are closer clubs to myself like Ashton and Haydock.

Again thanks for the welcome

It all depends on when you are able to play.

If you are looking to play after work, then a course near work may be better suited.

My course is a 30 minute drive, if it was 10 minutes away, im sure I would visit more often.especially if it had a range.

Look at the facilities, practise areas, talk to the pro, do you get on with him, Play each course a couple of times to get a feel.

Are there payment plans that suit your budget.

So to summarise

Convenience,
facilities
Cost
Ambience

Good Luck
