I'm changing up the wedges I have in the bag and am looking for some feedback on a couple of possible options.

I've just bought an i25 50' gap wedge, as I had too big a gap from my 45' PW on full shots, but now I'm left with a big gap to the 58' Eye2 SW.

So, I'm looking at a 54' wedge without too much bounce, as rightly or wrongly I try to pick my wedge shots without much turf interaction. I excel at the 150yd thin... So, these are the candidates:

Mizuno MP T4
Callaway MD2 Tour Grind
Cleveland 588 RTX

Any opinions and feedback most welcome on the above or alternatives. Looking for a club solely for use in and around the greens and I don't anticipate hitting too many full shots with it.

Cheers

Out of the ones in your list I'd go for the Callaway based purely on looks

For a cheaper option MD's low bounce wedges are fantastic, I have one in the 60° and it's one of the best clubs in my bag

Cleveland RTX.

I've had Mizuno wedges for a few years but find the Cleveland options much better.

A little heavier to swing but feel very good despite being cast.

I had Mizuno T4's but certainly rate these higher.

A good list but the Vokeys are worth a look as there are so many bounce, sole and grind options to suit all types of swing. However none of those listed are poor and will do a good job (user depending)

All about feel.... I find Vokeys really heavy hence the change to the clevelands. I went for the 2.0's for a little bit more forgiveness....

I use to think that too. However I did find the latest version a tad lighter (might be that I was at a testing day and so really wanted to like them). Ping are another option the OP should look at. I found the Callaway's really heavy though

exactly the same as me - i also find the vokeys too heavy.

The Mizunos look nice as do the TM TP wedges

But for me the best ones that i like the look of are the Callaway Mac Daddys

I am far from a TM fan but the EF version of the TP wedges are stunning and I am seriously considering a 60°. That or the S5 in Blue (which I initially hated but its hrown on me).

Opportunity knocks! Mack Daddy 2 Tour grind for £40. Done. Thanks all. There are some good nick cheap wedges going on eBay at the moment, just seen a nice MP T4 for less than £30!

I'm too late now I know, but I've used 2 of those and I'd say...

MD2 TG for a slider
MP-T4 for a digger

The difference in the soles/grinds (imo) is huge.

By that I've done well then mate. I'm certainly not a digger with the wedges. Can you elaborate on the soles/grinds? Cheers

I have had the last few versions of the clevelands and they are top draw all round.
Good for full shots, half shots, from sand. I have a low bounce 58 and it opens up well for add loft too. Great wedges in my opinion.

The MP-T4 had quite a wide sole so gave the impression it would help with slightly fat shots. The downside was that I didn't feel like I could open the face much without the leading edge getting too high.

The MD2 I could almost lay the 52 flat and still play shots, but anything slightly fat and the leading edge just buries itself in the ground.

That was obviously my experience and others will differ. I have been known to take decent sized divots!

+1 for the Vokeys - super wedges with a good set of options
