Surely I can't be the only person considering the above after the sudden reminder of the last week?

I've got some excellent waterproofs, but they just don't seem the same size they were when I bought them - as I've never washed them (with anything except rain) I can only assume it's me that's changed....

I'm also a little concerned that going larger with the top will make it more likely I will simply blow away in a strong wind!

It's all fine in the summer, they fit great over a single thin underlayer - but add any sort of top, or a couple of long thin layers, and the phrase 'constricted' becomes an understatement.

If it wasn't for the recent series of (excellent) posts re 'getting fitted for....' I would have titled the post that way, but how do you handle this issue?

I cant really comment on the loosing weight part as im only 13 stone and 5 10...So i wouldnt say im overweight as such.... But.... I hate loose waterproofs.....
If i were you i would try get something like the Mizuno Impermialite range... They seem to be made out of a fairly stretchy fabric that looks good but you also wont feel like you've just got into the rapper of an empty packet of crisps....

I think the clever thing with waterproofs is wear leggings under the pants rather than a casual pants.. You'll be warm and dry and wont feel restricted.... And up top i would layer up with thin warm layers rather than a polo and a wooly jumper....

I bought a set of waterproofs a few months ago; the trousers are fine, but the jacket can only be described as tent-like. With a base-layer and a poloshirt on, the jacket still flaps like a pair of clowns' trousers in a hurricane.. and I'm not what one would consider 'slim', more 'rotund'... ;)

Aarrrgh but that is a problem in itself. They are all so good which ones do you choose?

Its a nightmare it really is. mustve changed my mind about 5 times. Definitely want the stretch version, preferably half zip and preferably shell not paclite. Likely to end up with Ardell or Axl, with Alf trousers

I'm the opposite, especially on the waterproof top. I'd rather have a little bit of room than too tight especially if I've a couple of layers on underneath. I do prefer the trousers to be a tad more snug as these blowing in the wind is far more off putting

The Mizuno Impermalite tick all the boxes for me.

Is the title wishful thinking or a typo:whistle:

latter bit is wishful thinking - I have a lot of waterproofs but they all seem too small!

windproofs, lined jumpers etc I've got in abundance and most of them fit well and feel comfortable to play in but both Pro Quip and CG tops (neck zipped smocks) that are 100% waterproof have restrictive aspects.

the answer is probably to spend more time fitting up when purchasing, and less time looking at the labels :)

Are they any good

Keep eyeing them up as they're very reasonably priced, I'm not buying galvin green as I can't bring myself to pay that much for waterproofs, no matter how good they are, plus if its that wet I just wouldn't play
