Good evening ladies and gentleman.

I'm Teddy from Manchester, currently living in Preston.

Just picked the clubs back up after not playing for over 7 years, I stopped when I was around 14/15 as I started to concentrate more into rugby.

Just wanted to jump on, introduce myself and hopefully use this forum to its full potential and join the community.

One question I do have which I'm hoping someone could shed some light on is that 8/10 times that I use the driver; the ball curls towards the right! I do have a lesson next Thursday to correct and wrong doings but I just figured I'd try my luck here beforehand.

Again, nice to meet you all.

Cheers

Welcome along, 8/10 (or more) folk on here can tell you that if your right handed that's a slice your hitting, no point in going into the whys and wherefore on here if you have a lesson coming up as the pro should look at your driver, your stance, swing path etc during your lesson, report back to advise how it went.

Welcome to the forum, there are a lot of us from the NW on here, so plenty of meets organised, where do you play?

I had the driver slice problem but I got it sorted with a few lessons.

Hi and welcome.

Yep, its a slice - or if only gentle, a fade. Advice on here is wide and varied but essentially it boils down to only two solutions to all problems. Either a) get a lesson or b) buy a new one. You're already half way to a cure :)

Hi there! It happens to me too I'm afraid. In the last lesson my pro slightly changed my address position: much nearer the ball with the elbow almost touching the chest, and a shorter perceived backswing. That was mostly because of an excessive downswing strength. It seemed to work last Tuesday! Welcome along :D

Welcome to the nut house ,

IN simple terms (no science applied)

a right hander's slice is caused by left to right spin on the ball , which is caused by you cutting on the inside of the ball ,

chances are your stance is a bit open , ( line of your feet pointing just left of target)

A good pro (even a not so good one) wil sort it out in a few mins , well he will see the fault , its up to you to sort it :)
