New Titleist Golf Balls

A little frustrating as I have just got 24 NXT Tour.

What exactly is the NXT tour S all about?

Just saw a longish Twitter Q&A with Titleist Director of Marketing and development chaps.

Some points that I recall:

The S versions of balls are softer feel versions.

The minimum swing speed idea about Pro Vs and Pro Vx does not carry weight with them. In particular, one Q said is it true that you need a minimum SS of 105 to make a ProV1x work? (interesting Patrick that we discussed this on another thread and the figure you linked to was 115MPH. The Titleist guys said categorically NO, you don't need a SS like that.

They say all balls are optimised to work with a variety of swing speeds. This is probably marketing puff, but he does make an interesting point. Not all shots in a round and hit at full speed, egs pitches and knockdown shots, yet the balls still perform.

first saw the prov1X swing speed on a bit of there own marketing and on a ad.

your right on short iron shots and chips and puts it makes no difference. What the idea was that on long irons and woods you need those clubhead spees to compress the ball. If they are now saying different, have the make up of the balls changed, i doubt it. prob realised that they are stopping the larger high handicap market buying them. looks to me like a marketing ploy to me.

I find the off the driver i hit the prov1 20 yards further than the X.
