Has anyone who has seen the new Titleist driver? Im looking at getting one when I go to America in 3 weeks but not sure which one suits my game? I'm a 6 handicap and don't struggle to get the ball in the air (It's my main problem so looking for the one that would keep my ball flight down!!)

Cheers!

The 909 D3 would most probably best suit you at your level of play. It has a 440 cc head I think and is designed to give a low-mid launch. It is certainly the model aimed at the better player. As for keeping your ball flight down this will mainly be in the shaft I think so a custom fitting would be recommended to find a shaft that works for you.

That said even some of the pros like a more forgiving driver, so the D2 or D comp may be better suited. Other than high flight do you struggle with anything else with your driver? Accuracy? If you don't then the D3 will probably be sufficient. Check out the titleist website and it will tell you the benefits of each club and who they are more specifically aimed at.

Would that not be corrected with a specific shaft? I am sure the 909's come with numerous shaft options so perhaps a custom fitting in the states would identify the shaft for you.

I am sure guys on here have opinions and experience on the type of shaft that lowers the trajectory.

Cheers for the response, I don't really struggle with anything else its just the height that is the main problem. I currently have a Taylormade Superquad stiff 9.5 deg and i think i need to go down to a 8.5 deg with a different shaft. Im fairly accurate but my bad drive is when I sky/slap one and it goes about 210 rather than 250!

I changed to a Grafalloy ProLaunch Red (S) and this has really helped me control the trajectory better. Still can't aim it for toffee, but there aint a shaft that can fix that yet!

its all about the shaft/loft combo i hit a 907d2 10.5 degrees with a diamana white board and hit it lower than my cobra but straighter with only 8.5 loft bad days with the driver seem to get much worse
