As the title says my Swingbyte 2 https://www.swingbyte.com/store arrived today . Really looking forwards to using it to see what it says.

Yes you could argue that the money would have been better spent on some lessons, and to a certain extent I agree. But then again I am a bloke that likes the odd gadget, and you can't take it with you, so what the hell.

Also whilst I know you can't promote companies on here, I got it from ebay from a seller in the US as it's not out here yet. Ordered it mid afternoon on Tuesday, arrived 8am this Thursday morning! Now that is service. Plus it looks like it's the same price in dollars as it will be in pounds, so even with the postage I've saved some money.

I really want something like this, I will be very interested in your review. It looks a little cheaper than we have seen some others. I wonder if it is accurate?

It's available for £143 all in in the UK. How does that compare to what you paid?

No customers issues for me, cost about £116 including postage. Got mine from http://stores.ebay.co.uk/PlayBetterStore

As far as I am aware version 2 of the swingbyte hardware is not available in the UK yet from their authorised resellers, despite what one of their web site says.

One other thing to note. There is also a new version of the app out that you download, but currently you can only get this on IOS. If you are an android user you can only get the 1st version of the app (which will work with version 2 of the hardware!)

So the new features as advertised http://www.swingbyte.com/sb2 are only available on Ipads now. Official line is that version 2 of the app will be out for android tablets in a few weeks, but android phone version will take longer. So just beware if you are an android phone user who wants the in app video recording and intelligent line recognition. As these features look very cool but may not be available for a bit.

if anyone is very interested but I have confused them, them PM me and I can explain further.

Didn't have version 1 of the hardware so this is new to me. Just had a very quick go and initially very impressed. You get a lot of stats and a 3D, front on, side on and top down representation of your swing tracing club head path. Only problem is interpreting them all!!

I have an android tablet so I am using V1 of the app. But the Mrs has an ipad so I will get the app on that and see what V2 of the app is like. As for question about iphones, quote from their facebook page

Android tablets are next up for the in-app video functionality. That update should be available very soon - a few weeks or so. iPhone will follow Android tablets and then Android phones. So, it will be a while before the video piece comes to Android phones and - due to higher processing requirements - it will only be on newer, faster Android phones.

Would a couple of lessons with a pro not be money better spent HK?

dont get me wrong, its great to tinker, but a mobile app to tell you what a pro can see?

I have regular lessons and practice every night, it would however be nice to have something like this to check between lessons that I am getting to where I should be. I think if its accurate it would be very useful as a reference. I also think too many lessons is unproductive so if one has more money to spend on golf than one can have lessons then things like this are fun and useful..... maybe...

yep..... :(

So come on then, whats with the Sudocrem? you got saw bits?

Running joke on our annual GM Irish Craic classic golfing trip to Ballyliffin where we have had scorching weather each year, a trip to the local stores saw a few guys all purchase said soothing antiseptic cream(wiping out the entire stock in the shop), my avatar is just a subtle reminder to them to not forget to pack it again! :D

Love it, I use it for the same but thought I was unique as I pinch it from the babys dresser draw... Seems its not just a baby product any more...

Guess the lads did not want to share...?!

Yes and no. With it I can go out into the garden at any time and hit a few balls and get lots of feedback. Then I can make some adjustments and see what the feedback is showing instantly.

Yes some of it a pro could tell me in about 10 seconds, some possibly not unless you get hooked up to trackman etc etc, which I don't in the lessons I've had. It's not really there to replace lessons, more as partly a boys toy and partly to give me some idea what I am doing. For instance from a few hits I can see graphically how my downswing is way too out to in and my swing plane is not good. Also I am not forward pressing enough when I hit the ball with mid to high irons. of course doing something about it is the hard part, but hey ho.

It's just a step on the march to miniature affordable trackmans which I suspect will be commonplace in 5 to 10 years time, and a lot of golfers will have them. Will it improve everyone's standard of golf, probably not. But is it be fun seeing your swing in 3D the and club modelled in real time throughout the swing. And getting stats on club head speed, how open or closed the club face is, shaft lean at address and impact, face to path angle, your tempo, attack angle plus many others when you want them for the cost of a new wedge? And what it shows it can do here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aVin9kQMVlo

Too right.;) And sometimes, to misquote Cyndi Lauper, golfers just want to have fun
