I was having a knock round ours yesterday when a mate appeared on the a joining fairway and shouted for me to join him and our junior he was having a knock with. Yes you read that right "our junior" we have ONE! I waited for them to catch me up, there was no way I'm playing 5 and 6 again in that heat. So when we get to 12 and long par four where my mate who has a nice draw off the tee is always past me, grrrrr, he's 5ft 4 and 60+. Boom off it goes. The junior 16yo off 5, SMACK! with a piggin' iron. So I had a chat with them both about this "draw" thing and said I'd have a go at it and tried to mimick my mates leisurely swish and roll of shoulders and wrists. SMACK! Arrow straight BUT 10 meters past him !!!!!! Tried again on 13, bad aim but straight. Again on 15. 20 meters past him. I'm smiling now!!!!!! Once more on 17. Slight slice but level with him. Bad mess up on 18.
The thing is, it's no effort whatsoever. I'm now arrow straight and longer off the tee. I'm going to practice this until it's in grained in my swing. So much easier to advance the ball with so much less effort!:thup:
