Has anyone played the new Srixon AD333 yet? If so, any thoughts, particularly spin levels on approach shots?

I like them, tried other brands, but I keep coming back to Srixon, either the AD333 or Z-Star, both give excellent results around the green, I can get them both to stop pretty quickly.

I would shave my backside with a broken bottle if anyone on this forum could hit a 100 of each and identify which is which

Before this thread veers off like so many others, can we stick to the point please?

I'm not trying to compare the new ball to the previous version, just looking at some cheaper balls to play thru the winter and was looking for some reviews from folks who have used this particular ball.

Thanks in advance for sticking to the point.

That is the point. you ent going to be able to tell the diff. Ad333 is a quality ball new or old. Just srixon trying to re-vamp a product

I've used the ad333 for quite a while now, mainly for the price as I lose a few. A good all round ball.

After winning the Wilson balls from GM I'll be sticking with these in the future. Very similar but so much softer off the putter. After using the wilsons for quite a few rounds I pulled a 333 from the bag today and was surprised at how much firmer it felt of the putter face.

Pm me your details and I'll post you a sleeve if you want to try them out.

Do you have an info you can share in relation to my original question?
Not sure we're on the same page here brother but yes the ad333 is as good as a two piece ball gets with acceptable control around the greens. Rather than buy the new ones why not stock up on the old model as they'll be cheap as chips since they have just released a "new" version

I don't intend buying many of them, just looking to try a cheaper ball for a few months when the course is soft and wet.

Price wise, the new balls are as near as makes no difference the same price as the old ones so for the sake of 2 or 3 quid I will most likely buy the new ones to try.

I've just noticed they have also got a new price tag of £18!!! They can sod off I buy them for there £15 worth of quality. I'm not sure the new changes are worth £3

To expand on what I wrote earlier, I like the AD333 because:-

  • They feel solid when driving and off the irons.
  • They give good spin from the wedges.
  • They stop pretty good.
  • They don't feel to soft off the putter face.
  • They're cheap.

They feel solid enough, but do not feel like they are made of baked china clay. They are soft enough to grip the wedge to promote good spin, yet when putting they don't feel like soft putty.

I recently bought some for winter. Approach spin is ok, nothing like a premium ball, definitely a few yards roll out when repairing my pitch mark, but that will change as the greens soften up I guess. One thing I have noticed is the lack of durability, obviously there are a lot of factors, going in bunkers/trees/poor strikes etc, but so far i've found a ball is scuffed up before i've played 18.

At £14 a box, they'll do for winter!

Managed to get some NXT tours for the same price as the AD333 so plan to give them a go. I do like the AD333 as a winter ball although it is too hard off the milled face of my Odyssey milled #9 for my liking but the way I see it, with bobbly winter greens it is something I'm prepared to accept for the benefit of a more solid ball off the tee and with my irons
