Ok guys 'n gals, I 've decided to get in the 21st century with a decent phone and looking at the Nokia Lumia 2010.

I'd like to stick with a Nokia as have always found them easy to use and hoping that changing to a smartphone and sticking with a Nokia will be the best option.

What do you think, anybody have one, are they all they're cracked up to be? According to reviews I've read the camera seems to be the best out there. But what about the phone itself?

Over to you - and thanks in anticipation.

It's more about the operating system these days tbh. I too was "cut me and I bleed Nokia" and swapped to a Nokia Lumia 820 about 12 months ago with Windows Phone 8 OS. Generally happy, the interface and phone are fine but if apps are key then you will be disappointed. It's difficult to get many apps for windows as it has such a small market share. I knew this and took the gamble that with Windows 8 for PC's etc the situation would improve. It is, but slowly. Yes the cameras are good on paper but most phones are pretty decent these days and if you want good photos then a camera as opposed to a phone is really still the way forward :). I'm locked in for another year but will probably go Sony or Samsung and Android next time if things don't improve. People will swear by Apple but IMO overpriced fashion accessories.....blue touch paper lit :)

Thanks for the info Fyldewhite, some useful points.

Not too worried about the apps to be honest, there will probably be more than enough for my needs, and as you say, are improving all the time.
I'm not a camera person but do like the idea of a better camera phone.

The app I would be most interested in though is the maps. I use a Sat-nav all the time for work and often struggle to pin point an address, so with the smartphone it will be a useful tool to have.

Thanks again.
