Do people have issues with new shoes rubbbing them, do you wear them round the house to break them in or straight on the course! Just got a new pair and went straight out with them and after 3 or 4 holes i was in a right mess, ankles rubbed and not very pleased at all. Never had issues with any others just wondered what you good people do.

I've a couple of pairs of FJ's and worn them all straight from the box without issues. Had real trouble with Adidas shoes and breaking them in which was one of the reasons I stopped buying them. I do tend to tape my heels up with plasters first time out but it's a belt and braces thing and never really needed it. What shoes have you got that are rubbing?

To be honest i didnt want to name names as thought we are all different shapes and sizes so was just after general hints and tips. But what the heck, Pumas, changed from addidas. Been out once again in them for a swift 9 and as you said got taped up but could still feel them rubbing at my heels.

I have wide feet and so have real issues with shoes rubbing as most brands are a little narrow. I am currently breaking in a new pair of shoes around the house at the moment. I was going to wear them on Saturday but bottled it, I will try them next week when I go out for a few holes rather than 18. No real answers other than go gently and keep plasters handy in your bag.

Never had to break in a pair of shoes

Only trouble I have had is with FJ - Synrg ripped my heels then the New DNA's ripped my whole foot apart - very bad blisters on toes and heel

Not had on issue with any adidas or Ashworth shoe

The Synrg were quite a hard leather and I did find them the hardest model to break in but never really had any blisters in the heel area. A little pinching across the top where the feet bend but no damage and fine second time out

I currently have various Adidas and Puma shoes, and none of them rub at all .... all were worn straight from the box.

Normally would only expect shoes to rub if you bought the wrong size.

Were you properly fitted for these shoes?

Have a pair of puma zero limits shoes that gave me blisters for a month in the heel area. Once that had gone though they were lovely ... Until they started leaking after 6 months and are currently back with puma being assessed. But that's another tale
