Had a bit of extra time today so called into Nevada Bobs Belfast today, my shoes are a bit ropey and thought I might treat myself.
Straight away the Ecco Biom took my eye, they looked good felt better and fitted like gloves thought to my slef 'mmmm happy birthday to me' asked the price (and done a google on my phone) when I was told £180 I just laughed and walked out - it is the RRP but WTF who is really going to pay £180 for golfing trainers.
TBH if they where in the £100-125 I would save my money but no way £180 - whats your thought on shoe prices?

Me personally would never pay that amount.
But if you look at it a very good pair may last 3 years,so 120 quid works out at 40 quid a year, less than a pound a week, surely a good investment.

You can get them for alot less than £180 if you search online. I quite liked them, but I saw the brown/orange type in the flesh on Sun & thought they looked a bit 'special'.

Save yourself some cash & get some Puma Cell fusions or the Nike shoes that Aztecs rates.

I wouldn't pay that much. AQL's are a decent price for me but I have got a pair of icons that my girlfriend bought me for my birthday. One of the most comfy surprises I've had in a long time

Can you wear them straight from the box? I had a pair of Stuburt Darren Clark's, they took 8 months to break in. It has kind of put me off premium shoes.

Bought a pair of FJ Contours for £90 a couple of months ago. Excellent shoes and personally given the amount of golf I play I don't believe I'd gain a lot by spending much more than that and I don't think paying £180 would buy a shoe that's twice as good. I'd rather have 2 pairs.

I got those shoes..

i paid 150, they are well worth it..

they are most comfortable shoes, I often play 36 and its like walking on a mattress the whole time.

Bought the very same, £149, most comfy shoes i have worn, very soft leather, YAK I believe, play every Sat/Sun, on an undulating course and away days, and they are worth every penny, I got the brown and Orange which I like but if you do not want the back ripped out of you, go for the white and Green/Lime. I have seen plenty of people on away days(3 or 4 games over long weekend) crippled on hilly courses. I have had some comfy Footjoys but my last were footjoy myjoys sport which did not last long and did not support that well.

Blimey. I paid £155 for a pair of FJ Icon myjoys so was obviously paying a premium for getting the design done. I'd get a standard Icon which is FJ's top of the range for £130 so there is no well on earth I'd pay that much for those Ecco ones. They don't even look a £180 pair of shoes

I paid £63 for a pair of Footjoy Contours with the BOA lacing system. They were so comfortable from the first time on. That was 15 months ago and I have changed at least 50% of the cleats, played a minimum of 150 rounds in them and have no plans to change them.

P.S. I use a chipper too.

Another vote for the Contour.
As comfy a shoe as you could wish for and durable with it.
Wore my black pair to the Ryder Cup last year - they spent about 6 hours almost completely underwater, took 3 days to dry out but they're still going strong.

liked your post till you mentioned chipper :D

Bought Fj dry joys tour and my feet are moving about inside which is useless on a hilly course, and to top it off something is rubbing inside so a blister on the little toe £115!!!!
Had fj's for 20 years with no issues until now.
