Played today in our club stableford and noticed the cause behind my wet feet over the last few rounds, a split in the shoe. Very annoyed as i only bought them in June, but i guess it serves me right for spending £30 on a pair of adidas from Sports Soccer. I have contemplated taking them back but to be honest i can`t be doing with the hassle.

Im now left with the dilemma over what shoes to buy next, whether its a trainer style or taditional shoe style? Make? Price for a decent pair?

Been browsing the net and have a few options

Any help advice / reviews would be appreciated.

Ive got the Adidas Tour Ltd shoes which are suberb(if price no issue) but from the list that you have there i would take the Stubert Helium Pros as they are great from first use and also quite cheap.Hope this helps.

HCFC....Suggest you look on ebay for ETNI shoes,I've now got 3 pairs and they are so comfy and waterproof.
Come in good variety of colours.
Would think that they have a website although SWMBO buys them for me,so have'nt checked it out
Good luck!!!

I probably got the same pair of adidas shoes in July and they have completely fallen apart and I am looking for new ones now! I'm not going to go for a bargain when getting shoes again! :D

Ha ha mine are a shoe style, black and white with a black band coming down the middle on the front of the shoe.

A previous post mentioned the ETNI shoes on ebay but after a quick search i couldn`t find anything.

Whats the common consensus on the trainer/shoe style, which do people prefer?

Do not buy any Nike winter shoes. I bought a pair at the end of last winter, and the 2 rear cleat sockets on each shoe became loose after a few rounds. The summer Nike shoes may be OK, but I use Footjoy in the summer, and will be buying Footjoy for the winter as well from now on.

I don't like adidas shoes. Actually I'll clarify that. I love their designs but their sizing and manufacturing are rubbish. I am an 8 in everything from football boots, trainers, work shoes, golf shoes, even hiking boots. If I try on a pair of adidas golf shoes I can't even get my feet into an 8 and even an 8.5 is too tight. How can it be out by so much.

I also have a huge issue with wearing their golf shoes in. I had a pair a few years ago and despite wearing them around the house, the range and the practice ground they took ages to break in. FJ's I can wear straight from the box without a problem. Similarly there have been numerous reports of adidas shoes leaking or splitting well before their one year warranty runs out and although they send otu replacements I'd be concerned.

Its a real shame as the 360 series including the 360 LTd are awesome to look at but I am wary of getting bitten again. I've heard great things about Ecco in terms of comfort and waterproofness but they jsut don't look that exciting to me. I've never heard of ETNI

Always footjoy for me, I have a pair of Addidas that I bought on sale as a bit of an experiment but nowhere near as comfortable even after a couple of months of use.

I can confirm, in my opinion of course, that Ecco shoes are THE most comfortable I've ever worn. Not tried their golf shoes yet, and have to agree that they don't look very enticing, but hey, it's not a fashion show, I'd go for comfort every time  :)

Golfmmad.

Nuffin other than Adidas shoes go on my feet! Although I do own a pair of dryjoys that I won! Much prefer the adidas for comfort and fit though!

Homer its a well known fact that you need to buy a size bigger when it comes to adidas golf shoes.

I know its a well known fact that you need to buy bigger. My question is why. I've got adidas trainers and football boots and both are a perfect 8. Why are the golf shoes different and why are they so much harder to break in than their other types of footwear

You must have weird shaped feet hjs, I also need a size up in adidas trainers! Adidas are sized strangely.

Footjoy for me.....i have a bit of an obsession!!!

Classics x2, Dryjoys x1, AQL x1 and Dimensions x1 and currently eyeing a pair of anniversary Dryjoys.....i know, i know......i have a problem!!!!!

I just got a pair of dunlop cheapys. They probaly wont last that long but as i have just started playing they will do for now and i will get some better ones in the spring.
