Driver, 3+5 wood, 2 iron, 3-PW, 52+58 wedges + putter all being donated to November the 5th bonfire night.

Good ridence!

I could have carried 315 clubs today and it wouldnt have made one iota of difference!

I dont carry the 3 iron, it can be used as the poker to make sure the rest burn!

Thats slightly worse than a bad round!

17 over par for 6 holes playing off of 5! Thats worse than 28 handicapper stuff! Brutal golf, and to sum it up one of my trebles came from the ball splitting as I hit it!

I was under the impression that you had to notice the defect before you play and once the ball is struck its a shot regardless.

Last time I use a Nike ball thats for sure.

I'm with jammy on this one. But I'm open to persuasion otherwise.

Having said that, and not having the rule book to hand, it looks like it might be suggesting that you play the next shot with your replacement ball from where the biggest piece of the original ball ended up.

That can't be right, can it ?

:o :D

Rule 5.3

If it is determined that the ball has become unfit for play during play of the hole being played, the player may substitute another ball, placing it on the spot where the original ball lay. Otherwise, the original ball must be replaced. If a player substitutes a ball when not permitted and makes a stroke at the wrongly substituted ball, he incurs the general penalty for a breach of Rule 5-3, but there is no additional penalty under this Rule or Rule 15-2.

If a ball breaks into pieces as a result of a stroke, the stroke is cancelled and the player must play a ball, without penalty, as nearly as possible at the spot from which the original ball was played (see Rule 20-5).
