Yes it is summer but I could do with a new rainjacket that I can use for hillwalking and golf. I've got some credit with my pro. He primarily stocks Sunderland and Footjoy - and he is doing the current FJ Hydrolite Rain Jacket for under £100. Seems just the thing for me. Any thoughts on this or alternatives. I'd prefer to give him the business but advice is otherwise I'd go elsewhere for the jacket and use the money for something else.

note that my hillwalking is not going to include lugging great hulking backpacks around. Pretty much max of 5-6 hr walks with a light day backpack,

CG Discount Golf doing a Ping 3/4 sleeve waterproof for £39.99 down from £100. Feels slightly padded, so not really lightweight, but not nearly as heavy as my Galvin Green.

Looks like I'll be putting it into action this weekend! :(

I bought a footjoy rain jacket in Florida at a good price, i dont know the model!!! but it very comfortable to wear during play. Its not so warm and feel cold when raining if you havent any warm clothes underneath...but i like the footjoy rain jacket

My proquip tourflex 360 was recommended by our pro and has been a grat buy. Doesn't get you too hot, great fit and certainly keeps out the rain. Worth a look.

I've got a Ping 3/4 sleeve for the summer, it looks really good but God knows if it is any good as I thankfully haven't had to use it yet. Waterproof and guaranteed for a couple of years, think it's a good buy tbh.

I picked up a Sunice from AG for about 50 quid more than a year ago... never been let down... Good quality but not very well known brand in the UK.

I've used Sunice, Sunderland and Under Armour. All good. Check how waterproof it is and whether it is likely to fit your needs. Most manufacturers produce several different jackets. Some designed for relatively light exposure to rain right might be designated showerproof, but even those designated waterproof vary in how much exposure to water they can take before they start to let in. As a general guide the higher the original RRP, the higher the exposure to heavy rain it can withstand, but you can often find good bargains online for last years model in clearance. I got my current Under Armour (RRP £159) for £39.99.

I have that ^^^^^.

I haven't got wet through it yet, even tho it claims it only repels water, and i've played in some serious rain. It's incredibly light weight, but keeps you incredibly warm. I'm very unsure how it does it, but i've played in 13 degree heat, with a horrible wind and intermittent showers. And if anything it kept me too hot.
