got myself a scotty cameron studio stainless 2.5 off ebay maybe its just because its a new putter in my hands but had 28 putts today where my normal putts per round is 36 the steel face gets my putts up to the hole more often than my old insert dought it will last though

anyone else had new gear what transforms the weekest part of there game

Got a TM Rossa Spider courtesy of GM and I'm sure my Odyssey 2 ball (XG2) knew I had it as it became very temperamental over the two footers. Have to say if you can get past the looks the Spider is a great piece of kit (Its been called a branding iron and something out of 4th form metalwork so far) and I'm averaging 31 putts with it so far (my average for the year according to Scoresaver 2) is 33.45)

Must say I can't get on with putters that have got half a foundry attatched to the back. Give me a blade putter any day of the week.

Keep the putter simple keep the game pure.

Love my Yes Tracy, it improved my scores no end. If I occasionally fall out with it I've got a Simple John Letters cheepie & Ping Tess, to use for a day or a week, then when I come back, everything is fresh again & all is good with the world.

I nearly bought a ping tess, but tried out a scotty in the shop, and then tried the ping again and it fealt like a childs plastic toy in comparison.
I do like classic looking putters though.
Don't like broom sticks or belly putters. They are the worst of all.

I have said it before and will say it again I just love the classic blade. i have an Acushnet Titleist Bullseye, she could do with a new grip but i am scare it changes the feel too much.

good luck with your new girl and remember rock the shoulders nice and smooth

i just could not get my odyssey to sit right i was thinking of a spider but really needed to try it on long putts to justify the money i really like the look of it but will stick to the newport for the time being it feels so classy

I used to use a Ping answer but struggled badly. Had a custom fitting at the Belfry and it was decided that I'd be better with a mallett so I got my Craz-e. It has definately helped me.

I strike the ball more consistantly from range, and scare the hole more from close in.

I recently won a Ping B60, but I really struggled with it when I tried it out. So I'm thinking of selling it to a mate.

But putting just isn't natural to me, I like the long game too much!

gil what was the belfry fitting like i after a new big stick,i been there and seen the facilties looks pretty good and the mags rave about it

I've promised myself that when its time to change my clubs again it'll be at the belfry as when the Quinn Masters was on at the Belfry they were doing free fitings & I wanted to see what Taylor Made Quad I should have been sold by a local fitting centre & they told me what I'd suspected since I'd started using it. The guys were very helpful even when they knew I wasn't going to buy anything from them then or even for a while.

Will look forward to the full fitting experience when the time comes. On one hand I don't want my current clubs to wear out as I love them, but almost can't wait.

Andiritchie,

The Belfry is very good.

I have lessons there with Chris Ryan and/or David Fincher (depending on which is available.

I had a playing lesson the other week on the Brab' back 9.

I've had all clubs except my wedges fitted there.

In other words - I'm more than happy there, and have recommended it to friends.

thanks for your comments did you get your driver on the same day or is it like normal a week or so for it to arrive,as i live approx 80 miles away so maybe they could post it up,ill ask some questions when i there for the brittish masters

I had to wait for it to be made up. Depends on what club you go for, a mate bought the TM Burner the other week and drove away with it.
