Decided to treat myself to a new putter today after a few problems with my faithfull old odyssey 2-ball. Basically I thought that it was lacking in feel for the tricky putts with a bit of break.

I had decided on a Bettinardi however today I tried a few more and ended up with the Taylor-Made Rossa Agsi Siena 4 model (as came out tops in GM review) and have to say what a lovely putter it is.

Lots of feel, nicely balanced and fills me with confidence. Can't wait to use her in anger for the 1st time at the Kent meet on Thursday.

Best part of the deal was that it was only £79 from centregolf chatham.

Thick and fast tonight....(threads)
I love all these Taylor Made putters, this one included.
I tried a few today in AG.....liked a good few, but my girls reckon 5 putters is enough.
Good luck with it.....don't do a "Poulter" with it, mate!

Being a lover of weird shaped putters (Ping UGLE, Benross Ripple) I am looking to have a go with the Taylormade Spider. Not sure what it is about these strange shapes but I am drawn to them and they seem to work for me (for a while at least).

I am also quite surprised that, considering alot of their kit is top end price whise, their putters are remarkably reasonable.

Normally I just fancy a change. I am not the greatest putter in the world so not kidding myself that it makes a massive difference to me but sometimes the look of a shiny new putter just takes control and before i know it the club is in my bag. Not doing too bad, only changed my putter once last year.

Try to get a few real practice sessions before Thursday.

I bought a new putter (Macgregor MK5) last Friday, great in the shop but used it for real on Tusday and couldn't buy a putt from within 3 feet. Went to practice green Wednesday and was great again so am going to persevere with it and get soe more practice (should it ever stop raining!!)

I used to have a method...ping "A" blade for general, Odyssey dual force (soft insert) for fast summer greens. I've been using two mallets since starting again, heavier for thicker/slower winter greens. I love them for long range stuff, I need much less backswing. BUT, over the short ones, I just go blank.....can't see the line at all.....this used to be a strength......can't wait to go back to a classic blade-type.

I am a constant changer of putters. I've got about 5 different putters I've accumulated over the years and tend to swap them once I start missing a few short ones. It couldn't possibly be me to blame.

At the moment there is an odyssey dual force 554 in the bag which is hanging on by the skin of its teeth (lost a vital hole in the GM match by 3 stabbing). Chances are the odyssey marxman is due another go.

Took delivery of a new putter myself the other day, Odyssey White Hot XG No. 5 Centre Shaft. Cant wait to give her a first outing tomorrow.
I had fell out with my last putter as she seemed incapable of hitting a ball straight.

would love to be able to spend the cash on one of the bennitardi black carbon co1 (think its co1) sex on a stick.

Said before i always thought we get ripped of with these expensive putters(just think the mark up must be massive)but when i tried a few i was amazed how well they are balanced.

As has been mentioned before, some people are happy to throw £100, £150 or even £250 on a driver but when it comes to the putter, the most used club of all, they want to penny pinch, why?

having upgraded each club in the bag apart from the putter i have ordered from the pro at my club a taylormade rossa monza spider to demo. cant wait to try it out. i am interested in how a better named putter performs. putting is a part of the game that i am now getting round to trying to hone a set technique in.three putts are letting good scores get away but have been concentrating on consistant ball striking up until now. at £139 this seems pretty reasonable.

All about male ego. We have talked about this before but it seems you can only be a "real" man if you are looking to tonk it 300 yards every time. Bugger the fact that 50% of the game is played from within 30 foot

I am the type of person who is always chopping and changing.

The one biggest regret I have is getting rid of my 2 Ball.

I won the Club Championship with it and sold it a few months later. My putting has never been the same since.

All the talk about changing putters made me think of something my Pro said last week whilst I was having a playing lesson. He commented that the toe of my putter was too far off the floor - to which my reply was that I had difficulty keeping the putter flat - and although the putter was the shortest I could find, I thought it was too long for me. He said yes it was too long for me and, here's the point, he said "nearly everyone I see plays with a putter that's too long" If he has a point, maybe you compulsive changers should consider buying a hacksaw next time instead :D ??

See below for my putter, i love this putter, in everyway, if i could, i would carry it everywhere.

Thanks H.I.D

I dont think i will change for a few years. Putting is hard enough with out having to get used to new putters.
