Decided to change my putter, no idea why but the old putter has gone! The last putter was a mallet type and I putted well within 6 feet but lacked control over longer lag putts. The putter before was a milled blade and I putted well from distance but missed more closer putts. Haven't got an unlimited pot of money, what are people's thoughts and where would their cash be going?

I've always tinkered between mulled faces and inserts and never been fully happy.
Bought a cleveland 1.0 TFI around 3 months ago and I love it. The feel off the face is excellent. You can get them for around £70 new now aswell. Definitely worth a look

Sounds like you need a 2-ball ProType like mine....
All the stability of the big head, all the feel of the milled face....not easy to find though...

I have a black series two ball, it's class, had it in the bag for about 6 years, it's going nowhere, had a Scotty before and was great for distance control but poor for me inside 5 feet, the two is a great all rounder.

I'm having the same issue, short ones are a bit off and lag putting is spot on, I've got mid mallet but want full milled mallet also, had a putt with the odyssey 2ball fang and liked that.

It must be catching! I tried 3 Scottys on Friday evening (GoLo 3 & 5, Futura X7) while my daughter had her golf lesson and didn't miss a thing  Now in fairness I didn't have my own flat iron (Yes! cGroove Sara 12) with me to compare, so I might have had the same result with that. But it definitely got me thinking about a possible change, I liked the feel of all 3 as well as the results. I've also tried the TM spider in the past and got on with that, so another to think about. Last one that currently interests me is the Evnroll, supposedly has a sweet face rather than sweet spot. Only downside to that would be a 100+ mile round trip for fitting, but I suppose it would be half a day out for me :D

Some serious thinking to do and might have to have a word with my teaching pro and get his opinion!

Is this not like asking for advice for your next wife/husband etc ;) Putters are such a personal thing. What makes you weak at the knees is unlikely to turn my head :)

Went back to the Anser yesterday. No idea why but it went well. Not so good today mind but I've a fist full of AG vouchers and I'm coveting the new Anser milled version. So many people on here keep going on about new putters and AG keep emailing me that resistance is crumbling. I nearly went out this afternoon to do the deed but would only have wanted in the bag for tomorrow and decided that wasn't wise. I've gone from my Odyssey two ball fang, to the Odyssey #9 and back to an Anser in the last month. Not that I'm indecisive
