As some people may know, I've had a few cuts this season and have already beaten my previous PB by 5 shots with a 75 (Par 69, SSS 70).

Well, today I've outdone myself and I've just shot 71 gross in the midweek medal :) Not only was I winning by 2 shots when I left the clubhouse, it looks like I'll get cut to 7.6. Not bad for a man who started the season on 11.8. And not bad considering I missed a 5 footer for birdie on the 1st.

Out in +2, back in level par with birdies at 15 and 17 (which was also a 2, so I'll get a few quid for that too). And 33 putts, which is good for me.

I am well chuffed and just had to tell people - HID is strangely disinterested...

Well played sir!! as per most people on here i expect, HID's are not that interested about how you hit the sweetest 7 iron in the world from a tight lie, soft draw and left a tap in birdie.. As per foxholer, "if you took less shots, you would be home sooner"

next up is par round then McBroon?! Looking forward to the post soon!!

Cheers folks.

As for HID, I had a pint afterwards to celebrate but, as I'm not really a big drinker, she was more interested in the smell of booze when I got home:

"Have you had a beer?"
"Of course I've had a beer - I just shot seventybloodyone!"

(I should add, for the sake of being fair to her, that it wasn't an accusatory question. More a surprised one - it's really very rare that I have a drink.)

Level par? I don't know about that. I'm just going to concentrate on shooting in the mid-70s more consistently for now. But I look forward to writing the level par thread when it happens :fore: ;)

Edit: just had the results through from HDID - 7.6 it is.
