Yes, I know, another one of these threads!

I bashed it round in 83 today - 6 shots better than I've ever managed at my course before.

A couple of lessons and lots if hard work over the winter might finally be reaping some reward! Trying not to get carried away, playing again tomorrow so will just aim to enjoy it and stay relaxed.

That's the first objective for this season achieved, now for the handicap....

Well done.
It certainly beats all the doom and gloom posts

Thanks everyone - one step at a time, but it's a big leap forward in scoring, without feeling like I played out if my skin either really. Couple of shots that went my way that might not on another day, but then I have those even on a bad day!

More than anything else, it was so nice to be out there on a pleasant evening on firm fairways! What a novelty!

Early indications would seems to suggest Paul is some kind of genius!

Or maybe this was some kind of wonderful fluke - hopefully I can cobble together a reasonable score today too and keep the momentum going - not sure it's a good idea to hope / expect the same again, I guess, based on listening to Karl Morris a lot recently, I need to get back to the same neutral state of mind I had yesterday and just enjoy my round of golf.

Awesome to break your PB by 6 shots! Hardest thing now will be to hold back expectations, just keep doing what you've been doing as if you can do it once you can do it a million times!
Make sure to buy your pro a pint to say thanks, he'll appreciate some positivity coming his way!

I sent him an email almost as soon as I got off the course!!

Just heading up to play now, just going to enjoy an afternoon in the sun and see what happens....very hard to keep
expectations in check though!

Played again today, only got 15 holes in before the light faded, but took 72 shots to that point. 11 over with three to play - so I'm very pleased with that.

Not quite as good as yesterday, but I'm sure it would have been my second best ever round had I finished it off.

Happy days!

Excellent! :) Keep working at it, it's obviously coming!

Proof that practice and patience pays off... good stuff fella! stick with it, sounds like your on the right path

Good shooting mate, you know you can do it now. Only a matter of time before you do it in a comp ;)

Just dont put too much pressure on yourself.
