dropped into the golf shop at the range in Inverness yesterday and sitting in a black tour bag were the new Mizuno MP650 driver and woods.

Tried them out, as you do.

The driver has a much deeper face than the 630 FT that i have in the bag, couldn't tell you if it went any further as the range balls are terrible here. The shaft is the Orichi Redeye which is a new shaft made for these clubs. went alright. but i'm not sure i could hit it off the deck like my current driver.

The 3 wood again with the redeye shaft looked a little bigger and less open than my current mp 3 wood, sounded nice off the face.

Hybrid, mizuno have gone back to the old clk style head and appear to have different lofts to the last mp range.

They look a nice range of clubs, not sure i will be changing though, maybe swap my 17 deg mp for the new one need to try out on the course i think.

There's been some very positive comment about this range over on the Mizuno Forum. Seems to be more fade biased in the head design according to reviews so far. Not seen them in the flesh yet, but hoping to see them soon.

Is that at the Loch Ness Golf Club, if so I am hoping to get up to see Martin in a couple of weeks. I love the look of them but my present driver is only nine months old and my wife would not be so keen.

I really want to like them, I have just been watching the video review by the designer.

As has been said it is draw biased in its weighting. They are just not as aggressively designed as Titleist woods for me.

DCB says they have had good reviews on the Mizuno forum but I have herd no noise about them apart from that. I would love a little 910,I20,MP 650 shoot off with a launch monitor to see how they do back to back.

Looks like the FUJIKURA OROCHI RED EYE is just for Mizuno too, I hate that.... why aim a better players wood at someone with a shaft they can not find anything about? I know they can be custom fit but with so many good shafts on the market why have one made for you??

Yes, The clubs they had were just for them to ty out and i got the impression they were not for sale.

My tip for this is to get a set of the tour headcovers, then you can change woods as often as you like without the wife finding out.:);)

It too AG months to get the 630 when it came out, naybe 6 months after the Mizuno reginal fitting centre.

I'm happy with the stuff i've got and like the look and feel of the thinner face 630 FT. I use it from the fairway sometimes and i'm not sure i would be able to with the 650.

Like the hybrid though, i did prefer the older CKL look which they have gone back to.

Had a little look at the 59 the same day, sat nice behind the ball and certainly better looking that the 58's.

if i were looking at new irons would def try the 59. But more than happy with my black nickel 62's.
