Thanks Tony.

I've been a golf addict for about 15 years now. I play my golf in Devon, and hoping that by some sort of miracle I'll get cut to single figures this year (not likely).

I suppose my failing is trying to be utterly technical in everything I do. I subscribe to the Leadbetter methods but can't put most of it in practice. I'm now just trying to figure out how I put the blurb at the bottom re clubs etc..!

Hello krokodil and welcome from me. I have been through that technical turmoil many yrs ago and although useful I only really improved when I chilled out and just played for the fun of the game. Doesnt suit everyone but worked for me back then I got right down to 6 and was good off that h/c ,recent yrs, age and MS have taken their toll but I still have fun and play off a recently grateful 9 :rolleyes:heh heh.
Its worth a try one time just chilling out and enjoy the flow forget the tech .see what happens.

Herb/Imurg, thanks.

I have to say that when I get out there I try and forget the technical stuff, but you know as soon as i'm on the tee, i'm thinking athletic knees, slightly open shoulders, driver set on indide of left heel, visualise the shot.....after all that I occasionally hit a decent shot!

Ha ha ha I know! Its not easy, it took getting mad for me and giving up through frustration for a few weeks, when I came back I returned with my nephew who is a great laugh and a good golfer and thats how I managed to get away from that automatic focus. :)

Herb, I think you're right. A lot depends on who i'm playing my round with. More intense, focuses guys seem to ring the same out in me!

Krok, with regard to all your swing thoughts, leave them on the range(thats what its for) and just let muscle memory take over. Too much thinking will have you burnt out by the turn.

Thanks Folks.

Homer-Teignmouth Golf Club, fantastic location with stunning views.

Tony-I try my best I really do.

Realgolferuk- I swear by the book (the title escapes me) which he has David Frost as his pictured golfer. Concise and logical. Must be at least 12 yrs old now.
